Another Fossil to the collection,
Cheers,
Last week I spent three days in Barcelona at the MWC, or Mobile World Congress. I'll be making some other more car related post in some other threads, but I did run into this watch at the Qualcom stand.

MWC is the largest Telecommunication exhibition/congress in the world and this year it was very much about connecting everything, anywhere anytime.
So this watch gets tethered to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The display is pretty amazing. Even in bright sunlight or a lamp right smack on top of it, you can still clearly see and read everything. Whether you like this style is very personal. I'll admit I'm a bit of a gadget freak, so it looks interesting, but I must admit that any of my watches looks nicer then this. So its more a choice based on function over form. And so far I have been choosing my watches mainly on form and looks. Still the way to go.
If I want to know how much I've walked, how many calories I've lost or how well I slept I will rely on on my Flex from fix bit, see
http://www.fitbit.com/flex . Still connected, but not at the expense of a not particularly nice looking watch!

I've now got 2 Skagens as well - one for me (see post above), another bought last year for the wife.
Good, durable, smart-looking watches, except look out for how the band is fixed on in some of the models. The band only connects with the centre section of the spring bar, and wearing the band too tight (or a sudden pull on the watch) can distort the spring bar and make it pop out of the lug ends. Some have neat screwed-on straps though. |
Here's one of my two Skagen watches. This one is at least 10-12 years ago. I bought it whilst on a drive with my Alfa Spider in Germany, Monschau. Nice place, great mustard and they sell some nice watches too.
I don't have to many steel braces on my watches. But for the last decade this was the watch I often put on when I went for a swim, sail, bicycle ride etc. Anywhere it would get damp/wet. Did great and it is officially only 3ATM!

My flex says
Hi :)

Got the exact same one,
One more flex to the teambhp gang. Although I average 10000 steps a day, I'm still not losing any weight.
Gotta get on the diet bandwagon.

Not an expert, but have 3 in the collection, and I wouldn't buy another. Neither rugged, nor very scratch resistant. 2 have had problems within 1 year of buying them, necessitating leaving them with Titan's service centre for a few days (under warranty though). |
After a week of careful usage, my watch got several scratches. The strap portion seems to attract scratches even sitting idle. The metal portion around the dial also got some scratches.
I am very disappointed with the way this watch is getting aged :Frustrati
(Tommy Hilfiger watches)
Steinhart OVM on a leather nato strap, landed today. Its really soft and feels very comfortabel on the wrist.
Not only do Tommy Hilfiger watches age badly, getting spares for repair is an issue too. I scratched the glass on mine badly when I bumped into a sink. Not only could the Titan guys not manage to source a replacement glass, they ultimately made me replace the entire external casing after making me wait 6 months. Cost me nearly half the sticker price of the original watch.
I wouldn't take a Tommy watch if someone gave me one for free now.
I am planning on getting my first G-Shock (
GA-110C-1ADR)
I love the grey color one. I don't find it in online stores in India though.
Can I buy from Amazon US? Would there be any warranty implications?

Nice. What is the model number?
Is there a Steinhart dealer in Bangalore?
I quite like some of their watches. :)
Got my Casio Protrek PRW-2500 yesterday. I have a love hate relationships with Protreks, I love them but they hate me 😄. My earlier one was a Analog ABC ( forgot the model number) quite liked the watch and functionality but it use to pinch my hair so i let that one go. Tried this one, no hair pinching till now. Hopefully we ll turn out to be good friends 😜
Here are the pics

I tried for Steinhart few months back but Ethos & Zimsons had no idea about them. Let me know if you find them anywhere.
Is there a problem buying TISSOT watches online from say Amazon, Snapdeal or Flipkart? I remember reading on the newspaper that TISSOT is not sold online & warranty will not be honored if there is any problem with the watch. And then there are fakes too.
I am looking to buy this one at the link below - Tissot T0444172103100 Chronograph
