Look what we have here! A thread on watches! I am a watch freak and have been for several years!

My current collection is as follows:
1. Rolex Submariner
2. Rolex Explorer II
3. Omega Speedmaster
4. Longines Classique

Plus several miscellaneous watches like Seiko etc.

Been a Rolex fan for a long time now and the Submariner was the first "Good" watch that I bought for myself. Its been a love affair that started from there. Over the years I have also had the following but had sold them to fund future watch purchases:

1. Rolex Yacht Master ( SS/PLT)
2. Rolex TT GMT Master-II
3. Rolex SS GMT Master II
4. Panerai Marina Militaire

Had nothing to do so thought there must be some thread on watches.. N Bingo there was one indeed!

My first watch was some Casio that my Dad got from Sweden. I remember I was in Class 5 and it had a stopwatch, dual times, alarm and light. I was so excited with it. Passed it onto my cousin.

Second one was some watch (cant remember the brand, Gitano I think!!) my Dad got from Canada. Again had the same things as above except that the light was green! Wuhuu again was very excited! Passed it onto my cousin.

My third and current watch, a Citizen Eco-Drive Calibre 8700 - No battery for life!! was what I bought myself! Ah that feeling! Always brings a smile when I look at the time.

Congrats on the Limited Edition Tag. I am not a big fan of the style of steel strap that came with them.

But then Lmited Editions will make you smile 30 years down the line at an auction!

a question for you guys (actually belongs to the GQ), what watch do you think will work best on a formal occasion on a business suit. i know traditional leather band works best.

but how far modern can I go....I am not James Bond to pull off a sea diver's watch with a suit. I love black/grey metal bands with minimal decoration. something like this.

Amazon.com: Fossil Men's Watch - Black Regis Chrono: Fossil: Watches

Hi Bhpians,

I have a query. What should be the resale price of a Rolex Submariner(without date) , sparingly used with all the papers? The watch is in mint condition.

Cheers,
Wolg
