Previously had Fasttrack which got smashed in an bike accident. Was thinking of buying a better brand and time riped in sending me to South Africa via Dubai.

So, in Dubai Duty Free, purchased a Swatch - YCS410GX

Looks good and cool. Had to remove some links to suit my hand though.

Thanks! It is quite a looker "in the flesh". It is German but has a Swiss ETA 2824-2 high beat movement inside, so the second hand has a near smooth sweep. The pause in between the ticks will be imperceptible. The second hand also "hacks". In case someone does not know, that means the second hand can be stopped at 12'o clock position while setting the time, even though the watch is mechanical.

Here is another pic. Can you post a pic of the 1960 HMT?

you're my man monsieur SPARKled! - excellent choices if I may say so. I love these particular ones too and not the least because of their particular association with my favourite book and movie character.

OH yes the association with that particular book and movie character is what made me get these for myself. Am a huge fan of him myself .

It's a nice watch. Keep your removed links safely as the Black rubber part in the watch straps gets cut after long use (few years) and its difficult to get it repaired.

actually thats exactly what prompted my own splurge on that particular product - as worn by Pierce Brosnan playing the man himself in several of those superbrill movies.

only trouble is that the "off-the-shelf" version doesnt come loaded with quite as many goodies as the fictional/ movie version-what say?

will take snaps of the collection and post sometime later.
