1) Lakshmi Watch Store (or Works?) - Unity Building, opposite the "official" HMT watch shop. Proprietor: Mr. Shetty. Free: badam milk in plastic cup.

2) HMT Bhavan - a little north of Mekhri Circle. Proprietor: Rotund, greasy-haired, shifty character. Free: improve your kannada slang in 15 minutes!

I'm sure your Dad would love to have a Kohinoor. Do share some pics when you get one.

Cheers,
Rahul
While my Kohinoor purchase is still pending - fell for another beauty - this time to gift to my wife.

I dont know how good ck Calvin Klein is (Shows swiss made and all drama), when it comes to watches - but this was too beautiful to ignore! Didnt see anything even close, for ladies, in the particular mall i was visiting. Pics dont do justice, it looks like a mirror attached to steel bangle.

Its going to be an anniversary present for her!

(Pics from internet. Its extremely hard to take photos of this watch, due to the highly reflective nature!).

Its a stunning watch. Many congratulations. Was eagerly waiting for your review and pics JVH.
I love the way 'Date' number is coloured white on black bacground. Usually its the other way round these days.

Once again congratulations. This watch is a stunner. And probably an expert conversation starter
Thank you! Well, no pics by we amateurs can capture the real world beauty for sure. A professional photographer can only do justice.
I'll wear it on formal dresses rotating between a few others. But it is obviously a first choice on special occasions. Last Thursday, our group won an award in a quarterly function and I wore it purposely to get some attention from our India president when I was collecting mine lol! He did notice it I think. Hopefully he'll remember noticing it next time we bump :-)

Thank you! Yes subtle design cues, that's Stowa and Jorg for you. I can say that in this price range, you cannot get a better chrono than a Stowa. Its simply stunning.

A beautiful watch. Many congrats. I very much like it.

Could you please let me know if Valijoux 7753 used in this is regulated to chronometer specifications? and is there any replacement in balance or the main spring ?

How to know if the movement in our watches is actually Japanese or Chiness?
Is there any possibility of having chinese movement in a watch showing 'Movmt Japan' on their dials (Mostly near 6' Position)?

Reason for asking is, I have recently bought an ALBA with VD53-006 caliber through Watchkart sale.
Not sure if its genuine sieko derived movement, Japanese or Chinese.

Thanks very much. My wrist is just over 7 inches. The bezel is thin and the dial appears big in reality.

Lovely, Lovely watch. Stunning design, and exquisite craftsmanship and attention to details. The pics themselves look this classy, wonder how this would look and feel in the flesh. I must confess I had no idea about this brand, till the time you put up your first post on the watch. Since then, I have been hungrily devouring the pictures on their official website.

Congratulations on a fantastic acquisition

Thanks a lot! You are right, am not able to capture its true beauty at all. It is absolutely fascinating in real. The fit and finish, attention to detail is mind blowing really. I have held many expensive watches double/triple this price range and have never been so awestruck. Tell you what, even the pics on their website do not do justice.

While the quality is unquestionable, what makes Stowa watches also attractive is their business model. They sell only online through their online store thereby eliminating any other costs related to distributors, retailers and so on. That's why they are able to price attractively maintaining the quality several notches above. The flip side is waiting period which can be even up to 6-8 months. This will not be my last Stowa for sure.

re: Which watch do you own?

I was Looking for a specific watch to wear over the week end and came across these 2 Breitlings Lurking in the watch winder, which I almost forgot about. The 3rd one (Daytora in S/S in middle) is my regular wear.

Both of these are on Brown croco strap. The Windrider Chronomat with pin buckle ( Blue Dial with 18K/SS Case) is COSC model and the other One is a Chronomat Evolution model with a Deployment clasp, with a very rare MOP dial.

Better than a Rolex any day ( just my personal opinion)

Excellent pics of Breitlings there. Personally I love the Superocean Heritage range. If I ever buy a Breitling, that would be the one.
