For me the gold is preferred as I consider it as a dress watch with white dhoti attire, and its special when you attend functions with traditional wear it gives a good look. I agree this may not be the best for corporate dress.

re: Which watch do you own?

Bought a Casio Edifice ED 436 for 10k today from a mall.

Spent 3hrs yesterday & 1 hr today looking around for watches. Budget was 20k but the only one i liked was a Seiko Sportura for 25k , actually was looking for a Solar SNE 115P1 but nobody had it in stock! Edifice series were the only ones which were vfm & actually looked more expensive than what they were!

You could have contacted Ethos . They would have arranged a piece for you in Mumbai. I am using one since last 6 months and totally satisfied

re: Which watch do you own?

Well i do not have much desire for watches. In the year 2007 i bought a black Casio G-Shock for about rs4,500. Till today its serving me in a flawless way. Not a single battery change till date too. Am really satisfied with it so after purchasing it i never really looked for buying another new watch.

I visited 2 Ethos stores, both places salesman seemed disinterested. At Shoppers Stop the salesman took down my details & said he will arrange it in 1 week. At Helios store the salesman said they have it in warehouse & they can arrange it provided i deposit some amount. Got a headache after that yesterday & went home.
Maybe a Seiko next time or hopefully a more premium brand than that i hope!

How is the casio edifice series? I have been scouting watchkart for a while looking for a new watch under 10k. The edifice series looks really good and VFM and as rightly said above it looks costlier than its price tag, although I haven't seen it in person yet but only on the net.

The Edifice is quite popular among bhpians! I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw a few retailing for a mere 5k, they looked fab for that kind of money!

Ya. The few I shortlisted were all around the 5k mark. Looked really good. I am going to check them out for real once and then probably going to buy myself one.

Edifice watches are good indeed for the money paid. Besides they also come with 2yr warranty.

What is a good model to buy from Casio? Black dial and a black leather strap for 4500.

Except the G shock.

re: Which watch do you own?

Somehow been lazy about posting on this thread but watches greatly interest me. Must be hereditary as my Dad was crazy about them.
Here's some that I own:

An old Westend Watch that my father had:

My fav since childhood and gifted to me by dad when I got my first job:
A Fortis Incaboloc

Been wanting to get this back in shape but not sure if I should send it to Mumbai:
A Fortis Starliner

This is what I wear currently and gifted by FIL at wedding:
A Tissot PRS516

This is what my Dad owned but let go of to buy something else that he was equally passionate about! - An unnecessary Car - I think both of us were just intrigued by the idea of a Maruti 800 with a 1.0L Diesel Daihatsu and to buy it we sold the Rolex off

A Rolex Submariner

I'll buy one again soon!

Cheers,
Adi
