Also the Baume & Mercier joins the heaviest watch club in my closet next to my Citizen Grand Complication Signature Collection

Wondering what's a good tough watch to wear while going out high altitude trekking and the like.

Congrats trammway. In your quest, did you come across the fly-back chronograph? It appears on the bigger side but its beautiful.

Sunnto Core or any of the Casio G-shocks. Both will serve your purpose.

Thank you.

I liked capeland models from Baume for their domed crystal and the heavy feel, fly back is not my taste.

In few days I will post some real achievement in my watch collection here, 2013 is a lucky year for my closet.

+1. I have a PAG240T-7 for about 2 years now. Brilliant watch and works like a charm on some mild treks which I keep going to once in a while.
I also use it daily. A perfect companion. I think even Samurai has a similar version.

It is BM 13750 aka. base Valjoux 7750 may or may not be modified. All I know is that the rotor got Baume & Mercier imprint.

My watch is Baume Mercier Capeland S MOA 8502 model

Good selection! And they are indeed Swiss-made. CK watches are made by Swatch group, who actually own a host of brands including Swatch, Tissot, Longines, Omega, Rado etc.

re: Which watch do you own?

Hey guys I'm new in here, so unable to post pics I guess.

I've got an Espirit, an Armani, and a Rado True Jubile R27653742 Ceramica

You can take a look at it on my blog post that I created after buying the R27653742 Ceramica

By the way I enjoyed the Baume & Mercier, and the other classic beauties!

Cheers

- Om

Thank you. Watch is truly beautiful, but that made my day, knowing about the brand :-)

Only risk is- she now thinks I need something better for myself, and I need to keep reminding her that I'll not get another watch for 5 years. :-P

re: Which watch do you own?

That's a very vague question? . You mean just by brand recall ? I would say Rolex/Casio? But to a watch lover,it will be AP/Patek?
My Ranking would be
1.Patek
2.Audemar Piguet
3.A.lange
4.Rolex/blancpain/Panerai/omega/corum
5.casio/sieko

After the first 3 it comes down to particular models of the rest. I don't like to pay $$$$$ more for a same movement just because it's cased and branded with history.

At least some modification has to be done if using a ETA/valjoux movement instead of slapping it as it is ,Like how breitling and IWC do for some models.

Buy a watch based on its brand and looks alone if it costs <2000 USD, above that movement should be an important decision factor, all in my IMHO.
