Karan- Sorry for pulling up such an old post of yours but I am intrigued by this watch. Have never bought a Titan but this one is NICE !

A few questions:
-How often do you need to wind the watch?
-How has it held up for the past year or so since you got it, does it scratch easily or feel flimsy quality?
-What is/was the price?
-How long is the warranty?
-You think it would be possible to remove the Titan print on the front glass ? Or is it embossed/itched in?

Oh no problem sahil Here u go,

1. One full wind gives u a backup of approx 40 hours.
2. I actually have many watches so don't wear it regularly but the build quality is really good. The polish is still like new.
3. I think she paid 16k for this model there is one more model which is slight cheaper. (steel finish)
4. 1 Year
5. lol i dint tried it and will also not recommend to do some thing like that.

If you have any further queries regarding this watch feel free to contact me, If u want more pics how it looks i can post them for u

re: Which watch do you own?

Is it just me or the "Automatic" usage by Titan is kind of misleading ?
An "automatic watch" according to me is something that works on its own and does not require winding. Like my Sieko-5 that has neither a winding option nor a battery powering it, but still works after 25+ years. Or maybe the Citizen Ecodrive watches, that again do not need winding or batteries. Fail to understand what is automatic about a winding watch ?

EDIT : Looked up Wiki and this is what they have to say :

An automatic or self-winding watch is a mechanical watch whose mainspring is wound automatically by the natural motion of the wearer's arm, providing energy to run the watch, to make it unnecessary to manually wind the watch. A watch which is not self-winding is called a manual watch.

re: Which watch do you own?

Would be great if you can post some current pics if it on your wrist. Trying to judge the size as my wrist is very small. Currently I wear a 41mm which is perfect. Not sure how many mm in diameter or thickness this one is.

Glad to learn the build quality is good. That was my biggest concern. Wish they had a clip system on the leather strap !

@supremebaleno: you are right. Titan is misleading with the automatic title. The manual winding is another reason holding me back. I wish they had an automatic one!

Are they Seiko 5 Sports or just Seiko 5? Also, only descriptions not allowed; we need photos too [and prices if you're willing to share]!

Lovely watch. Care to share the price?

Note: It's requested to all members to share the price as well (if they dont mind) as it would help other members to buy it if it falls in their budget

I think Titan introduced three or four mechanical models, one of which was a manual wind with power reserve complication. I think the particular watch in question must be the hand-wind model. The rest were all automatic. I think all of them use Chinese movements (mainly Sea-Gull), same as the automatic range introduced by Timex. That was the main put-off for me from getting one.

BTW only self-winding mechanical watches qualify as "automatics". Watches similar to the Citizen Eco drive don't. Not even the Seiko Spring Drive - now, that is an interesting watch. Does anyone on the forum own one?

I had almost finalised a Citizen Eco-Drive but was not happy with the fact that Eco-drive is not exactly a purely mechanical watch. It uses light to charge batteries and does not run by a wound spring.

One the other hand I saw some automatic 'mechanical' (hand movement powered) watches from Seiko but their prices were above budget.

With a budget of Rs 10,000-12,000 I guess I shall have to settle for a quartz or for an Eco-Drive, unless I decide to wait for some more time. By the way, I am watch-less nowadays and biking is big pain without one. Thank god for the bright dashboard clocks on Indicas next to you on the road.

IIRC from your previous posts, you want a non-chronograph watch, right? If so, there are quite a few good looking Seiko 5 watches in your budget. Take a look:

SEIKO 5 - SEIKO 5| SEIKO WATCH India Pvt. Ltd.

SEIKO 5 - Sports| SEIKO WATCH India Pvt. Ltd.

Any reputed watch showroom in Delhi should have these in stock; even if they don't, I'm sure they can easily procure one for you.

Cheers,
Vikram
