Here are my collections.
Simple and Reliable Fastrack:
Fossil:
Apple Watch Series 2:
These black straps will be soon swapped with brown leather straps. It needs to be charged once in two days :Frustrati. But nice to own one with a Iphone.
Apart from these I owned a Cruiser, a Reebok, two Sonatas, and one more Fastrack.
Pending list is a Tissot and a Titan.
My Cruiser : This is not a recent purchase. I have this watch for many years now.
I haven't used a watch for the past 25 plus years. Earlier I found that every shop had a clock and every other person was wearing a watch and hence you could see the time easily without the hassle of wearing something on your arm. Since 1995 or so, I have had a cell phone which shows accurate time on its screen and thus have never needed a separate watch.
Received an sms from Ethos that as GST has reduced to 18% from the earlier 28% on watches, prices of 10,000 + watches has been lowered !:thumbs up
The prices on their website have been updated.

Interestingly, the Cocktail Time range in the USA is available for a substantially lesser price, so if you have anyone coming down from the USA, you could perhaps consider buying the piece there. |
Just checked with Ethos, the one with the mocha coloured dial is about 35k after discounts. I actually do have a relative coming down from USA but if the difference is marginal I'd prefer buying it here, not sure what the difference is.

Apart from the movements and badging both the watches appear to be twins

The mocha dial Presage model in the USA is about 372 USD, and with discounts can be had for about 355USD. At today's exchange rate this would be around INR 24000 which is 11K less than the India price that you mentioned Ethos has offered you. :)
Here is the link of the retailer that I have used and is a well known and respected one in the US:

I feel it is worth getting it form the US, given the substantial price difference. Also, being a Seiko with the 4R35 movement, it should be a reliable workhorse and should give you years of trouble free ownership. Have a look if you are interested!

Thanks for the link. 11k does seem substantial. The price gap between the 2 watches in India is 9.2k while in the US its very less, i wonder why! Anyways, i will have to anyhow go visit Ethos to see the watches in the flesh & see how they look on my wrist before thinking of ordering it.
Presently don't have any watch in my collection with a leather strap.
So...yet another acquisition for this year. Presenting the Seiko Samurai Pepsi dial. This was one of the new models under the Prospex line and was unveiled by Seiko at Baselworld 2017 (one of the biggest watch shows globally) and was initially released as a Japan and USA only models. It is now available in many other countries, but not in India. I purchased this from the USA.
I was looking for a chunky divers watch to add to my collection, and instantly fell in love with this one when it broke cover a few months back. The dial is pure art, and combined with the deadly Seiko lume (which glows like a flashlight), the proposition was too hard to resist. Really dig the sporty aesthetics of this watch. Even though it is slightly on the larger side (like most dive watches), the watch wears smaller than its dimensions, and hence fits really comfortably on the wrist. This comes with a high quality rubber strap, which is one of the softest and most flexible OEM straps that I have come across.
To note: this is a professional specifications divers watch (and hence comes under the Prospex sub-brand of Seiko), which means it is ISO -certified and rated to be perfectly suitable for scuba diving, capable of functioning up to depths of 200 Meters.
To all Seiko automatic owners, how long does the watch run when not used. My Seiko 5 manages 4-5 hours. Is it normal?

Even the most basic seiko 5 uses the venerable 7s26 movement. It should run for atleast 40 hrs after an active 8 hour wear. Your 4-5 hrs seem too low. If yours is a sedentary job, the watch may not be getting enough wrist movement to get a full wind.
Thanks for the info. I better get it checked with the dealer then.

A 7S26 or 4R35/36 movement should last for a good 40 hours with a full wind. Higher grade movements like the 6R15 will run for 50 hours. If your watch is running for 4-5 hours, most likely it is due for a servicing, so do get it checked and it should run just fine.
My new acquisition ! The Orient Sun and Moon automatic. This is the older version 2. I liked the dial layout of this version more than that of version 3 that has ben launched recently.

Nice! However, I would have thought that the hacking and hand winding that the Ver 3 offers would prove a strong enough incentive to opt for the most recent movement rather than the earlier generation that you picked up. Nevertheless, a lovely watch, and if you wear it regularly, the lack of hand winding wont really matter too much. I did consider picking this up but a couple of factors stopped me: one, the thickness of the movement and the case, and two, the relatively large size (I think its 43-43 mm, as far as I remember) which in my view makes it less suitable as a dress watch.
Congrats, though..the white dial looks great. My personal favourite is the blue dial with white hands, truly a looker! Where did you purchase from?
