Khanak,

We try to allow the Marketplace threads to remain open for a while so that :
1. Missing info / additional info can be added
2. They can still cycle into the "new posts" listings
3. People can ask specific queries.

However, we do agree that if there are members criticizing the price when they have no interest in the deal, or an incomplete understanding of the product can affect the deal, and we try to prevent such posts.

Hi,
I'm relatively new to this forum. I've noticed that the posts I make are not posted until a moderator approves it. Wondering what the reason for this is?

We filter the first 50 posts of any newbie. Why?

Helps us coach folks on the proper way to post
We get a lot of spy bots etc - we can nip them in the bud
A lot of people start off asking questions/ posting issues which are already on the forum. Filtering helps coaching folks to look before posting

Quite a challenge for us folks.....and please don't tell my manager!

I just am more used to setting expectations and then correcting only if they posters don't adhere it. Seems like an Indian thing as I've encountered the same in 2 other forums.

The expectations have been set in our boards rules but not many people read them hence this!

I would disagree , if you are honest and if your car is good ,what do you have to worry about .If you don't like the price , don't sell it here , simple .

Members might questions things that I wouldn't have thought off and that could bring out/expose positives and negatives about the car .

A member can leave positive feedbacks about a car ,which I have seen many times( as in case of samurai's car ) .
Like a recent post asking 2.75 for a car which would cost not more that 1.5 . It also brings out present market conditions

Agreed, but things dont always work out as you think they might.

We have always maintained that the Marketplace section is intended to be a classifieds/posting section, (not a discussion forum), and if further posts/questions and replies aid to adding the info to the "posted ad" then it is fine, hence we allow those posts, but it is not intended to be a 19,000+ vs 1 bargaining place. The agreement on price can happen off the forum, and we do have several threads with (generalized) info on market expectations etc if the need arises.

shouldnot the user profile have some meaningfull info?

Should not it be made mandatory that user can not enter some nonsense in their profile; i have just checked out the profile of this newly registered(not yet confirmed) user: Srkzkaqg ; his interests ,car etc.,. are all some kind of name sake stuff. May be moderators will check this before confirming registrations ,but is it not possible to validate at time of registration?

Oh boy, that is yet another spambot trying to advertise on Team-BHP. Dont worry, its membership will be deleted.

Not sure if this question has been raised or answered before, so please pardon me.
Is there anyway to find out the number of comments one has made in the Gallary of other Bhpians. I hope I am making myself clear on this question.
