@Moderators, I'm a newbie. Many times, I couldn't find relevant information through search. I don't know whether it is a correct thread/section to post. I tend to put a disclaimer in the post and post it the most relevant thread, that I find.

I've seen this as a common problem for newbies in many threads that I've seen.

As a moderator, you would be scanning the newbie posts. As mentioned somewhere, you would mentor us, when required.

Wouldn't it be good if you can PM us and direct us to the right section/thread? This will help us in becoming better BHPians.

No offense meant!!!

Regards,

hey vivekiny2k,
In my opinion, its a adware or a spyware on your computer because i doubt its presence on T-BHP. Yet, the moderators will be able to say for sure :P
If its on your computer, you can use Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove it.
Heres a link - The home of Spybot-S&D!
Its the 1st download in the list.

Is there anyway to find out the number of comments one has made in the Gallary of other Bhpians. I hope I am making myself clear on this question.
The number of comments made in a particular garage do show up in the garage listing. However, if you mean to check how many comments you have made so far, in other peoples garages, nope that is not possible.

Gosh, that is embarassing. I have attempted to sort this problem out, and don't think you should see it anymore. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hi Suncity,

If you post a post that is in the wrong section, we will move it, and you will receive an automated PM telling you the correct section that it has been moved to.

Similarly, if you create a new thread for an existing topic, we will either merge it with the existing thread, or delete the new thread. Once again, in these cases you will get a PM informing you of the action.
If we lock the thread, we will post the reason in the thread.

Keep reading the forum and looking around and im sure you will get the hang of it soon!

Also, a tip when searching - use the advanced search, and select the specific sections you want to search within. It will provide better results.
If there are still too many results, you can try - "search titles only".

ps - Akshay - yes, its new.

We are allowed to use the multi quote " in a reply, up to a max of three. In this case if one wants to add more quotes, one has to open the page in another window and then use the ", then copy and paste to our first window. Ca there be a way to increase this option to say five?

The initial entry into the forum is a bit over monitored so that people dont just join and spam, very different from any of the other forums

Form for FS/Wanted threads ?

Quote:
condor : Most new threads do not follow the suggested format of specifying location & type (Wanted / FS) in the thread title
GTO : Condor. We actually included a line in our rules requesting members to title their threads correctly. However, popup or not, in the end it all depends on the members inclination.
GTO, how about a form with a quick link to the form ? Members just need to fill in the details, and once submitted, the details comes posted as a new thread, everything where it should be.

Yup, feature of the new software. Helps our SEO too!

Suncity, in addition to what Rehaan has already mentioned, try using boolean search (we now have it enabled) too. For instance, when searching for "Honda City" in the forums, type "Honda + City" in the search parameters. I can assure you that the results will be pretty accurate.

Done V16. Our software upgrade allows us to increase the number of multi-quotes to 10. Enabled it right now.

I think that's a wonderful idea GTO.

What condor means is like the ownership survey form we had why not have a form for posting in the indian car market. Whenever someone wants to put up something for sale in the car market he fills in a form similar to the template we have. Once you submit the form it appears as a new thread in the section.
