Thanks guys! Yes, I was on chrome with AdBlock.

And both options worked, clicking there as well as disabling AdBlock which brought back the button to click.

Would appreciate it if you could report this as a false-positive / mis-categorization to AdBlock. I'm guessing there might be a right-click option or something with the extension? (not sure, as I've never used it).

'Classifieds' section needs a revamp. Only 'cars' is no longer a good enough criteria. At least Fuel preference, transmission, kms should be filterable.

If there could be a section of 'Want to buy', it would help tremendously. I would rather buy my stuff from fellow bhpians. I am sure many members would consider selling their cars/bikes/stuff if they see a demand for it.

We did consider this, but it doesn't work very effectively - so we held off.

I know this is an old thread and if mods you feel that this post is not relevant, then please delete it. I am on the lookout for a vehicle and I feel that there is a potential for win all situation through classifieds - The classifieds could be tested and reviewed by Team BHP designated experts. For this inspection a small fee may be levied from the buyer and seller which could go into the funding for the site. For the seller, it helps him/her in posting that their vehicle is Team BHP approved and for a buyer (especially novice buyer like me), it will help them to buy the vehicle with confidence.

We did very briefly consider something like this, but it's an extremely logistically difficult business to do well pan-India (or even across a city).

There are a few 3rd party services that do the same, though a few of them have shut down. Example 1 (Autoinspekt & other used car evaluation services), 2 (Anyone used Vericar for second hand car verification ?)

The ads are reviewed on weekday mornings, it will be published on Monday most probably

Is it time for the classifieds section revamp?

As compared to other car related classified platforms the traffic of sale post is not a lot. Wth the amount of members/daily visitors here the classifieds section should be a hot section here. We ever so often go looking onto other platforms as a first choice for used cars. Its only a few times here and there when we(or maybe just me) have exhausted our options that one comes here to check out cars or anything else related to buying/selling.

Any ideas as to what needs to change if at all. How could we make it the OLX of used cars or start gaining some traction.

Is there any added reliability quotient to team-bhp classified ads? Is it only open to members? Basically want to understand if there is less risk in considering cars here.

Any one can post an ad on TBHP classifieds. Classifieds is a separate portal, with it;s own login.

Regarding reliability quotient, the reputation of TBHP rubs off on the Classifieds too. I have met one person who had posted his bike only on TBHP Classifieds, even though he was not a TBHP member. I asked him about it - he said that other portals like Olx attract too much chaff. By keeping visibility only on TBHP, he was able to get only genuine buyers.

Condor has replied to your other queries. In terms of risk, some vehicles are posted by individuals that could be considered by default to have less risk (though anyone can post in the classifieds section and not just members). And if they happen to be TBHP members as well, then you might get an idea of the Individual and sometimes the history of their vehicles.

- Dealer postings : At par with other dealer postings
- Individual postings : At par with other individual postings
- Individual postings by members : Least risk in terms of tampering

The classifieds are open to all including dealers. The risk is the same and due diligence is needed.

However chances of buying direct from an enthusiast individual is higher here than on other platforms which has its own advantages : better price, more detailed service history, and generally better kept car. But due diligence is always recommended.
