Hi Noctis, Tejas,
A few questions wrt Amex cards:
1. How easy is it to pay utility bills like Adani Power, MSEDCL on Amex cards?
2. Do they have any surcharge if we pay utility bills via Amex card.
3. Does Amex give special deals i.e. lower annual fees than what is mentioned on their website, like some other cards.

The process is identical to your other cards from VISA/MASTER.

1. Both providers state they accept Amex, so it will be the same as any other card.
2. Adani charges .75% convenience fees for payments over 2000/-, but again applicable to all cards. Not sure about MSEDCL.
3. Depending on your usage and relationship they can waive the fees partially/completely for certain years. But with rare exceptions they usually won't give the primary card as ltf.

1. Very easy. Just pay thru Amazon Pay. In fact, the reward rate gets better. Buy Amazon Pay Vouchers from Gyftr Portal using Amex Plat. Travel and get 3X reward points. Load on Amazon Pay and then pay all kinds of bills thru Amazon Pay. Utilities, Mobile, Internet, Insurance, Gas Bills etc.

2. No Surcharge via Amazon Pay for any of those payments

3. Amex gives Platinum Travel as First Year Free when applying thru a referral. Second year onwards the fee is 5000 + GST but you can always call up Amex and ask for possible offer on fee waiver or reduction or compensation by Points.

If you think this works for you, you could use any of the friend's referral link to apply for the Amex Platinum Travel or let me know, I can send you one.

I know you are answering a lot of Questions. Thanks for that.
Have been following you on twitter/X as well for a while now.

Let me add one more quickly - Between Amex plat gyftr Amazon vouchers vs Infinia gyftr Amazon vouchers, which has a better reward rate. Little unclear on Amex Plat reward rate.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Team, silly to ask but since HDFC Infinia is invite only can someone be kind enough to lend an invitation? How does it work, like the old one plus days where one had limited invitations to share?

For travel how's Scapia? For some reason I couldn't complete their video KYC in time and now its been 6+ months the app still throws the same message 'cannot onboard you at this time'.

Invitation by bank only, not by the existing card holders.

Invite needed from Bank. If you are eligible, just keep escalating, thats how I got mine.

If Scapia is not working for you - I recommend Niyo SBM Credit card. I got one this year and worked flawlessly on my trips. And the App is excellent. This is only for 0% markup and dont bother about the reward points.

Amex plat travel gives 1 MR/50rs, with one point usually valued at .50rs. Gyftr gives you 3x that which results in a reward rate of 3%.

Infinia on the other hand gets a 5x boost to it's 3.3% reward rate bringing it to 16.5%! But you do have to pay fees close to 3% for the amazon pay voucher.

I personally use infnia for Amazon vouchers. Plat travel is all about the 4l milestone, for which we can use usually excluded categories like fuel and insurance as well.

MS
I have been using Kotak Indianoil Cc and Axis IndianOil Cc for fuel spends. Fuel surcharge waiver is granted upto 10k and 5k respectively. Plus the reward rate is 4%-5% per transcation(above 200). I don't encash, but usually convert the spends into Amazon Prime Subscription and shopping Vouchers.

If there's any better way to get rewards on fuel transactions, would love to know.

If you ask me, you will need Amazon Pay vouchers from both HDFC Infinia & Amex Plat. Travel - Total Rs. 30,000 Per month. Can be used for:

- Utilities
- ICICI Fastag Recharge
- Internet Bills
- Piped Gas Bills
- Insurance Premiums (Life & Medical Both)
- Groceries
- Mobile Bills & Recharges

At one point, we were able to cover Fuel too under this.

To add to this list:

1. Generate app store/playstore vouchers
2. Pay for subscriptions such as MS 365, xbox live and an increasing no. of OTTs
3. Payments across numerous sites/apps, many of which provides additional discounts for using apay.

For groceries through Amazon Fresh I'd recommend Amazon shopping vouchers as these have a separate monthly limit and in case of Infinia doesn't incur any additional fees.

3. Fill in HP pumps and use HP pay. Select ICICI fastag as the payment option.
4. ICICI fastag also says we can pay at BP or IOC pumps but those guys are not clear on the process.

I am using this flow, with Infinia CC.
Hi.

I got my ICICI Fasttag and tried to load the fasttag using my Amazon pay gift card balance. But looks like amazon does not allow it. It is only allowing to load via amazon pay wallet balance. Am I missing something?

Is there a way to transfer Amazon pay giftcard balance to Amazon pay wallet?

Or is there a different way to load the ICICI fastag using the amazon gift vouchers purchased on gyftr?

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Has anyone tried requesting for an extension of the Taj voucher's validity issued by Amex for the spend milestones?
I was unable to utilize the voucher last year, and it is bound to expire this month.
