Max distance covered in 24 hrs

Did one a couple of years back - started at 6.30 from Hyderabad, touched Bangalore, dropped of my brother and family there and immediately left for Pune. Took a 3 hour nap break somewhere near Hubli , and reached Pune by 6.00 am.

Around 1440 km.

Last january, I did Kolkata to Rajahmundhry in 19 hours with a 3 hour break at bhubaneshwar. This is a distance of roughly 1150km. Started off from Kolkata at 4am. Reached Bhubaneshwar at around 11am. Left again at 2pm and reached Rajahmundhry at around 11pm. The next day I did another 900km in 13 hours with an hour's break. Started off from rajahmundhry at 8am. Reached home at bangalore at 9pm.

2050km was done in roughly 28 hours of driving time.

I hope i am not off topic.

I had a question about driving continuously. What is the recommend
distance, after which it's good to give the vehicle a break - not just
wrt tyres but everything in general.

Suppose I am driving from Bangalore to Pune, is it Ok to drive continuously, or should i take a break and let the engine and the tyres rest a little.

@ Gomzy - Modern cars these days donot have any limit in terms of max kms cap per day. The engineering / built quality / ride-handling etc of cars has improved significantly in the past 10 years. These modern machines will not retire untill you get tired.

I have done non-stop travelling (without any haults) for ~400-450 kms in my Maruti Ritz without any problem whatsoever. Had to stop as i was low on fuel.

Bangalore to Pune would be approx 850 kms. So, I dont see any issue in such a short journey non-stop. Moresover - nature calls / hunger pangs will give some breather to your vehicle too.

Well this has to be my drive from Belgaum to Madurai with a stop over at Bangalore for few hours in 2008.
After I had packed up once I was finally done with college I left Belguam at about 6 AM.
Short deviation into Darwad, Hubli, Davengere
NonStop to Bangalore.
The crazy traffic had me stranded there for 3+ hours.
Reached Madurai at about 2:00 AM.

Total of about 1089km

My longest drive in a day happened last week, Tirupati to Pune (1060kms) in 17 hrs which included 2 hrs of halts. Left Tirupati at 7.30am and reached Pune 12.30am.

On the whole trip, covered 2850kms in 5 days, Pune-Mysore-Ooty-Bangalore-Tirupati-Pune.

My longest drive has been from Bangalore to Shirdi - 1000 plus kms. Started from Bangalore at 5.00 am and reached Shirdi at 1.00 am the next day. Bangalore - Pune - Nagar - Shirdi. Did this in i20 CRDI.

My longest drive happened on 19/10/2012.
From Bhilai,CG to Durgapur, WB - via Sambalpur, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Howrah. The distance of 1152 KM was covered in 23 and half hours.

I have done Bangalore- Vizag multiple times. I tart at 7.00 am from Bangalore and reach Vizag by 10.00 pm with breaks at Tirupathi, vijayawada. Total distance : 1100 kms in 15-17 hrs

Last June, due to an emergency, had to travel from Hyd-Chennai and back in my i20. Started from Hyd at 5pm on a Sat evening and reached Chn at 330 in the morning on sunday. Started again at 1030am and was back at Hyd by 930pm. However as of 5pm on Sunday, I would have covered around 1200kms. Total trip distance was around 1400kms

1200 kms in 24 hours last Sunday. Conoor - Kochi - Alleypey -Tiruvelneli - Madurai-Bangalore.

Motorbike:
1150 kms in 15 hours (Bangalore-Hyderabad-Bangalore)
1153 kms in 18 hours (Bodh Gaya-Varanasi-Agra-New Delhi-Gurgaon)
