Pune-Goa in 4.5 seems to be too quick. Pune-Kolhapur is 234 km. Kolhapur-Madgaon can't be less than 160km with ghat section in between. If they did 400+km in 4.5 hrs, that must be really incredible.

I had driven from Kota Bahru to Penang and back to Singapore starting at 5 in the morning and reaching Singapore by 6 the next day morning. The vehicle was Kia Carnival. Travel was not stressful as we had travelled through Expressways. Total Km's covered would be around 1200.

Wow dude, you beat the Karnataka express! Your bombay timing rivals the rajdhani express!

That would have to be Goa (Panaji) to Pune, 2 times over :

1. Nov 2004 : Me and my wife - Suzuki Fiero, returning from our honeymoon . NH-4, started at 6.15 in the morning and reached Pune at 7.30 p.m. (technically, that would be just about 13 hours). Took a long break of 3 hrs. at Kolhapur, didn't drive too fast. Luggage - a huge trekking sack filled with clothes, 2X3L wine packs, 2 bottles of Liqour, 6 glasses, etc. etc. About 480 k.m.

2. Last year, in a Maruti Zen - Panaji to Pune via NH-17, started at 10.30 a.m. and reached Pune at 00:30 at night, an hour and half halt at Rajapur. Around 550 k.m.

Though I voted for the 800-899 range, I am not sure of the exact distance covered. Did an incredibly tiring Gurgaon-Ajmer-Pushkar-Gurgaon last year.

I've done this about 19times:
1pm: Dindigul to Bangalore, 780kms
4am: Mangalore to Dindigul, 780kms (via Bangalore)

And once I travelled 2000+kms in Southafrica in a Corolla 1.8. You can average 140km per hour over there.

Have done,...

Chennai - Mumbai ~1200 (pre-golden Quadrilateral era), on a trusted NE - 23 hrs

Mumbai - Mangalore ~1000 on the NE - 22 hrs

Mangalore - Chennai ~900 on the NE. This was after a major revamp on the body, new tires and tune up (made this distance in 18 hrs), no AC, sweltering May heat of South India

Best short trip - 100 kms in 2 hrs on NE,.. used to make it almost every weekend to our 2nd home, until I got this VTEC,... takes me 80 mins even with a cool coffee break.

the bombay to pune timing is way too long unless u've used the old highway.
the pune to Kolhapur stretch is way too fast, must have been the best stretch of speeding 240+ in 3 hrs.
