Only a father knows the pain of losing a child. Very Sad incident.

Even if the car is not found I think you will lose the tax and insurance component. Sad but thats a big loss too.

AFAIK, if the car is not lost only the value of the car will be paid by the insurance company and if the victim has to buy a replacement he will have to shell out the lifetax and the fresh insurance.

This is a very old matter that suddenly got revived now..!! AFAIK, Khaadu got his claim from the Insurance and has gone in for a different vehicle.. The Bolero was never traced and there never was chance of it being traced..

Yup, thats exactly what happened !! The Bolero is probably somewhere in Nepal or rural UP being driven under a new identity . The insurance was a breeze compared to what I had heard .

That story is over ... got myself the Swift Vdi early this year and waiting for the TATA pick up to get launched , and may go in for that if pocket allows it at that stage .

Hi Khaadu...

Bro, it could even be in Leh/Ladakh. 2 months back, I was in Leh and I was surprised to see the number of Delhi registration-number vehicles in the city. In fact, the number of vehicles (all sorts - Maruti 800 to Taveras) bearing a Delhi registration, far outnumber the vehicles that are registered in their city. I am very sure these are all stolen vehicles from Delhi which land up there...Also, with Leh virtually being cut-off from the rest of the country (by road) for almost half the year, it seems to be a safe haven for the thieves...
Anyhow, all's well that end well...I would not say that your losing the Bolero was something good but then since you were compensated, it's kinda O.K. :-)

Note from the Team-BHP Support : Please take the time to use proper punctuation as per Team-BHP rules. Avoid...typing...like...this. Thanks.

Sejwal,

Issue is completely different. Transporting in big trucks is a pain to ladakh. So everyone prefers to buy in jammu/delhi etc, and take it to leh.

Would you let a company driver drive it to leh?

And risk of trucks not crossing road properly is high - they would be too long. plus tpt cost would be high too.
