99% of my trips are solo, and i like it that way. All i look forward for is a hot bath, good food and a comfy bed to end the day. But the distance covered so far is at a beginners level.

Mine has to be 1030 km in a day from bangalore to mumbai. 15 hrs driving 2 hrs break. Aug 2010 with wife and dog. Sorry I think its a repeat post. tried to delete but no joy

The max. I've driven at one stretch is

- 570km Pune to Baroda in a Zen with blinding rain for most of the time.
- 500km Gurgaon to Amritsar in a few-month-old City.

latest solo drive was from west coast (kannur-kerala) to east coast (chennai - TN) 667kms took me 11.45 hrs with a break of 1hr (food,refuel).

Delhi - Mumbai non stop driving, took 24 hrs of continuous drive.

Left 5:30 PM in the evening after office from Gurgaon, reached next day at 5:30 PM at Kalyan.

Distance covered approx 1500 kms.

My longest solo drive so far is from Kerala to Chennai totalling 728 kms (took the longer Salem - Krishnagiri - Chennai route)in 15 hours including a break of 2 hours in my humble M 800. Started at 4:45 AM from Kerala and reached Chennai at 7:30 PM. Previous record was 680 kms from Hyderabad to Chennai in judt under 12 hours in a Maruti Ritz (P).

My Solo Drive was from Dharapuram to Banagalore and Banagalore to Dharapuram on alternate days. Distance comes around 350 km's one way.It was in my 2002 esteem vxi last month.

Max Solo Drive was from Challapalli (in Andhra Pradesh) to Bangalore, distance covered 780Km (aprox).

My longest solo drive is planned for this Christmas.

Chennai - Trivandrum - Ranni - Thrissur - Ranni - Kumily - Trichy - Chennai

Certaibly driving in India is more strenuous & challenging than anywhere else in the world. Progress is little over a period of time.
I have done couple of long haul drives here in the ME.
Dubai(UAE)- Salalah(Oman)- distance 1250km, duration 12 hours(1 day); and return another 1250km(1 day).
Within UAEubai to Ruwais(4 trips) 4 x 350km =1400km
Off-Road:200km on Sand dunes with 15-20% tracks(10-12 hours)
Still enjoy driving.....
Wanted to do a real long drive in India, starting from Coimbatore-Chennai-Vizag & return via Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore.....

Man I don't know if I can do a 24 hour drive w/o sleep. I would call it quits after 14-15 hours behind the wheel. Phew! 24 hours is some effort. Was it risky trying to juggle between sleep and driving or you did not feel sleepy at all ?

In the night, at first I felt sleepy, but wanted to cover up as much as possible before dawn breaks, but by the dawn, I was in Gujarat. So thought of reaching home ASAP.

After brunch (not so heavy) felt sleepy driving at 90 kmph, but increased speed to 110, then sleep went off. Gujarat roads after approx Surat to Mumbai were sad, Roads in Maharashtra were no good either and helped me to concentrate more on the road, less on sleep.

Total distance travelled 1500 kms to my home with just 1 tea, 1 food & 4 petrol stops, Thane, Ghodbunder road traffic was horrible and it delayed my journey.

@ tanwaramit that was some feat.
I recently returned from a Mumbai- Rajasthan - Delhi- Mumbai trip though it was not solo driving, but in the past I have driven from Delhi-Ahmedabad in one day around 850-900 kms that was in 2002
Recently went on a Mumbai- Ratnagiri trip, stayed there for a night and then back to mumbai both these were non-stop drives on the winding NH-17.

My max solo drive has been Boise to Seattle and back - in 2007. One way the distance was about 350 miles.

Car was a Pontiac G3 (rented from Hertz). If i remember the fuel efficiency was about 32MPG.
