Almost It has been that way since I was a kid -- I love cats, and my family does too! The only difference between our place and a Hostel is that those who come usually never leave -- they stay on

Well, its been a case of been there done that.

I had a cat named Julie at my home since last almost 1.5 yrs and 2 months back she gave birth to 2 more cats.

And all of them relish sleeping on the bonnet of my car or on top of the ACs.

and i believe its just due to heat cos cats dont like cold floor.

But could never muster courage to use something like pepper spray etc etc to shove Julie or baby cats off .

so after it started initially,i have been using a soft rug for them to sleep well and not damage the cars too.

so please dont use anything bad against them, using a soft rug has been successful.

my 2 cents

File a false complaint against the cat for tax evasion.

They will freeze her bank accounts and seize her personal property, should definitely teach her a lesson.

No never ever, imagine this, cat jumps on your hood, it slips. It takes out its retractable claws to get a grip on the hood, it slips and again tries to get a grip, your hood paint is scratched miserably.

Or

If you do see cat on hood. Scare living daylights out of cat. Cat gets the Point.
If not Repeat Attempt. Cat will get the idea.

Yep. Slipping cats is a very bad idea.

In theory the paint may be harder than their claws, but in practice, probably not.

simply_sunny has the right idea: buy the cat a rug!

(and then watch as it carefully ignores it!)

Try this. Hang a Dog soft toy with a chord from the roof of your garage so he hangs just inches above the bonnet. Get a toy dog that's larger than the cat, swing the dog as a pendulum. Hopefully with a little breeze he'll keep swinging. If you can't hang the dog just plonk it on the bonnet. It just might work considering scare crows in fields keep birds away.

Make sure the dog is all dirty and scruffy so other kids won't want it.

ok. how about this... Get that rat sticky mat. Where once the rats come on it, it gets stuck. The New Age rat trap only a bigger version for the cat. Somehow get it to be put on the bonnet.
Once cat gets stuck on Bonnet then go and take cat for a wild wild ride. This scares the living daylights out of cat.

It'll never sit on bonnet.

What if the cat hires a lawyer and sues us all for conspiracy and causing harm to her life.

Why would any cat catch rats when its getting 3 time meals with Fish and Meat. I fear they will ask for the Remote of your ICE soon

Well, we had hoped!

But yes, you are right.

Trouble is they still catch the lizards, and I like lizards.

I am unsure if you have tackled an untamed street cat. One jab of the front feet is enough to send any human for cover and to the hospital for anti-rabies vaccine, dont even think of catching and releasing them like this. Cats have a very fast reflex action and untamed ones very furocious.

Deleting the post, as I realized that my comment was plain nastiness.
