Man this is really getting complicated now.

And since its got so technical. I strongly suggest, please give the specimen of the dung to The forsenic science laboratory (FSL), they can only tell you whether its harmfull or not.

Ever since I moved to New York, I have not posted a single message but seeing this thread changed that.
The replies are so hilarious that I laughed like crazy and my wife thought that I had gone mad :-)
I am not trying to make fun of anybody but must say that this was a very peculiar query and would love to see more such

Thread moved. This is purely a street experience and has nothing technical about it.

Rudra, this is purely a dung experience. One of pure dung.

And it is a technical discussion of the faeces of various bovine species.

Yetinote from English section addressed to all and sundry (rhymes with dungaree. Well almost.): Please note that faeces (Yank: Feces) is pronounced a bit similar to species using poetic license. Just like sundry was made to rhyme with dungaree.

However species actually has a "eee" sound at the end while faeces has an "i" sound. Not "i" as in "eye" but "i" sound like in spit.

Note: I wanted to use an example word that rhymes with spit and means faeces, but that is not kosher on Team-BHP.

Interestingly - Buffalo meat was not kosher. Note that I said was not kosher because on the 9th of May 2006 (yes, quite recently) the chief Rabbi of the Jews (not that there are any other kinds of Rabbis) examined buffalo meat closely and issued a kashrut certificate, therefore making buffalo meat kosher.

Good news for all jewish steak houses and non-jewish steak houses that serve jewish patrons, however - bad news for the buffaloes.

The buffaloes that heard this news crapped in their pants.
However since time immemorial, buffaloes wear no pants.

News travels slowly in our parts and this news took well over 2 years before it reached the fairly mid-sized buffalo community in Mumbai.

The proverbial dung hit the floor. Ergo this led to a situation where a TBHPian's swift drove over squishy kosher-buffalo dung.

It has since then been surmised that:
  • The aforementioned incident was not, in fact a dung attack - but a simple squishy reaction to the information of a life threatening situation for the now kosher buffalo.
  • That the dung was static and the swift was dynamic and therefore if this incident be termed an "attack" it was in fact the Maruti Swift that attacked the defenseless dung.
  • That the incident, in ALL ways was harmless to the swift or its driver. The smell was purely incidental. A pure street experience as the good (& old) moderator rightly pointed out.
  • That if you have indeed, read all the above patiently so far, you have proved to all and sundry (still rhymes with dungaree) that you have nothing better to do with your time.

It's always better to try and avoid driving over dung. That's what I generally do. There's a few logical reasons behind that.

One is the smell. After you drive over dung and park the car in the basement the stench is unbearable. By morning every single person in your basement will be wondering what the hell is the smell.

The second is the difficulty in removing. If you drive over fresh dung then it will dry over your mud flap and underbody. Once it dries up it's very difficult to remove by normal wash and only pressure wash with soap will do it.

Actually when I read the title the first thing that came to my mind was a heard of cows attacked towards the car. Once they were within firing range they turned around lifted their tails and began firing. That would be a dung attack.

Why did the dung attack the Swift ?

or so I thought the question would be. Till the Yeti put things in a politically correct perspective.

Therefore, now the question is : Why did the Swift attack the defenseless dung ?
