I was so tempted to ask whether you went or not to the showroom.

Hearty congrats! The Z6r is one amazing bike!

If you don't mind me asking what were the prices quoted for the other bikes?

Congrats man. What tipped the balance?

If i was buying something for weekend thrills and the track absolutely nothing beats the 6r. Whatever the advice here.

Thanks! I had been following up with the Thane showroom for last 2 weeks but they have no 6R on display Finally a new order came through yesterday, so I rushed over before the owner came to pick up.

They had most models on display. However the N300 and N400 are not open for orders anymore. They've stopped production it seems.

The N1000 was just a monster. Too big for me. I'm 5'6 an 65Kg. It felt like I was sitting on a truck so I quickly discarded that option.

Then it came down to the N650 and 6R. Frankly I was a bit intimidated by the 6R given the seating posture. The onroad price for 6R was 12.77 and they gave me a 1.1 lacs discount. The 650 on road is was 7.4, but they would give for 6.5. Interestingly they were not giving any discount on other models, including the 10R. Not sure whether they were just positioning to get me to sign the dotted line or not.

Finally took the call for 6R because this will probably be my one and only superbike purchase. Having dreamt about a superbike for the past 20 years, I let impatience get the better of me I guess!

And the sound of the inline4 - drool

Indeed that is going to be my usage pattern. I am not a fan of long drives and at best may hit a 2-3 hour stretch like Mumbai-Pune. Then office runs of 20Km one side (early morning and late night)

Track is the first plan. To get some proper coaching. I'm booking myself for Apex academy in March. CSS is booked out.

BTW - any tips on how to transport bikes from Mumbai to Chennai safely? If not is not riding.

MOD NOTE - Please use edit or multi-quote (QUOTE +) button instead of one reply after another in the same thread.

Great. The premier track schools will probably arrange transport en masse if they have multiple folks coming down from one city. Don't worry about it.

Congratulations!! It is an awesome bike and wishing you loads of miles and memories on the same. The current gen has less committed ergos than the outgoing version so should be better usable all round.

It has no competitor in its category until Aprilia plans to get the RS660 to India!!

There is a vlogger who posted a good video about expected expenses per 6000KM of usage. Most of it is accurate albeit with some reckless driving to show top speed . Search for Turbo extreme ZX6R maintenance to find the same.

Track school, gear and rubber (when time for replacement) are the best investment to make.

Congrats on the booking. And a very good choice at that. Probably the best sounding i4 engines too with the stock can.
I just loved how the bike rode and the brakes on it from the time I had experienced the bike and I am pretty sure you will have a ball of a time owning and riding it.

Cheers
Krishna

No, not a 6R. I recently acquired an R1, but the 6R one of the options I had considered pretty seriously and had ridden my friend's bike for a bit.
So I do not qualify to give tips on the 6R. But anything else I'd be happy to help.

Cheers
Krishna

Congrats on the bike mate! She's a stunner, and wish you many happy (s)miles on it.

Could you please tell me if the ZX10R was also considered, and if yes, how much was the price difference between the two?

Not much to start with. Crash guard, a skid plate and something to protect the engine covers. Possibly a luggage rack after a few weeks.

For CAD 6052 (great offer when I bought), this is a great bike and if manufactured in India, it should be possible to sell it at a highly attractive price.

The capabilities, refinement and simplicity of the bike needs no introduction. It is phenomenal to ride. A real classic.
