my bikes

these are two of my smaller capacity bikes...the r6 touring edition acquired in 2006 and the cbr 600 in 2007.the reason i bought two track oriented bikes was to practice and get experience before moving up to a litre class bike, which has been an obsession since my teens.
after a year of careful riding i realised that there is nothing i couldnt do on these bikes that an R1 or a fireblade would enable me to.road and traffic conditions in and around delhi are despicable and hence a few months back i bought an intruder 1800 for its mean stance and torquey engine.will be posting more pictures soon...

Thats not an "R6 touring edition". In fact, its not an R6 at all. Its a YZF 600, known as the "Thundercat" in Europe.

straight 6......................all my motorcycles are directly imported from Bangkok, thailand not Europe or USA.
before taking delivery of the r6...the dealer who i bought it from gave me the specs and the ACK sheet pictures and manuual titled YAMAHA YZF r6 touring-2006.so thats what i call it.and it shares the exact same chassis and engine with the r6.only difference is in the gearing ratio, front fairing and seat.
anyways, thanks fr the info.

All bikes these days are imported from Singapore not Thailand. Bikes imported from Thailand are usually the worst choices. There is a good chance that it was one of the rental bikes in Pattaya or Phuket. The fact that the papers say R6 means that there is some "jhol" in the paperwork.

This bike is known as the "YZF 600" in the US and in the rest of the world its been given the YZF 600 "Thundercat". Your bike seems to be the US spec.

By the way, who is the dealer you got this from?

this is a 2006 import,as i have already mentioned so it isnt exactly "these days"............and the intruder i have imported is from singapore.
i hope there is no "jhol" in the paperwork...but i would not like to discuss any legal issues concerning imports here.my dealer is based in lajpat nagar in new delhi.........i seriously doubt it bieng a second-hand rental as it came to bombay in a box and was in mint condition.key-box sealed, plastic on the seat and indicators, and that blue transparent film on the headlight and most of the fairing.

0333, that Yamaha you own is a YZF 600 aka Thundercat. I own a YZF1000R, which is called the Thunderace.
Both the above bikes were Yamaha's reply to the Honda's fireblade, and the best selling CBR 600 F3. They were then replaced by the R6 & legendary R1 respectively.
But heck, Yamaha would not give up on two brilliant motorcycles(thunderace & thundercat), so they pit both in the sport touring league thanks to their comfort attributes.
So what you fianlly got was a track machine with touring comforts, basically the best of both worlds.

manson.
