Damn! The 2.2 EX 4x4 costs more than my Dicor EX 4x4 cost me nearly 3 years ago - just got a quote & realized that I'm going to be shelling out nearly 11 big ones.

The quote seems to be about right. The vehicle cost matches that in the website. Then there is the extended warranty; this isnt included in the carwale.com quote.

I also remember there to be a Rs. 25,000 odd difference between bangalore and chennai. The price was around 8.5 L OTR bangalore a month ago.

Booked the Beast!!!!!!!

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for all your help and support. I have booked the beast (Artic Silver; LX) today and should be registered and delivered by early next week!

I went to the Yard and had a look at the vehicle and conducted the required tests and followed the guidelines provided in the PDI checklist!. That was relly helpful!

Will keep you guys posted on the progress!

Thanks Again!
Gopal

P.S: Soon will start posting my impressions and the initial drive report, and awaiting for the day when it will be delivered!!!

please check with the dealer - in Bangalore Concorde on Sarjapur Road was giving about 15 grand corporate discount for the Safari LX VTT Dicor 2.2 when I was in the market last month around 17th-18th March. You ought to get some discount from the dealer.

However I decided on the Scorpio instead.

Secondhand gets you pretty much a lot of headache if you are not lucky.
For most who buy a safari its usually a call of the heart and less of the head.
And if you have your heart set on it then buy new if you can.

As for me, I will be taking delivery of my Ex-4x4 (light gold) later this week.
This is the deal i got - you may find it useful/
HDFC bank 90% finance @10%.
Dealer discount 12000 + 3M anti rust treatment with 4 yr warranty & original 3M teflon.
HDFC has got me bajaj allianz insurance through their tie up for Rs.31655/- as against the dealers printed quote of 38768/-.
So works out to an effective 16000 cash saving minus the freebies.

Good luck with your buy.
Hi! which dealer offered you all this great deal. Please, let me know. thanks.

I think jay is right
better always to buy a new vehicle - much better peace of mind and you will also be practically the FIRST to drive it which is certainly a great pleasure!

I wish you all the best with your new monster and hope it gives you great times ahead!
drive safe and enjoy!
cheerio
