Hi Speedy,

The meet happens every alternate Fridays near Hiranandhani School (across Subway). Next one is scheduled next Friday 12th.
Later we usually head to K3, near Chilles for Snacks and Dinner(which is impromptu decision).
Hope to see you soon.

No one is the "event" coordinator for a mini meet. It doesn't require one.
Mini meet happens every 15 days and everyone is welcome. Just post on the thread that you would be joining. In case a meet is cancelled, someone would post on the thread. Dinner plan is impromptu.

And regarding the WhatsApp group, anyone can join it and be a part of the initial planning for a meet and a lot of other things

Hey Speedy, these Powai meets are fortnightly meets. No one organises them. That's been the pattern ever since they started about a year ago. The next one is scheduled for 11th July, so you can plan your calendar already.

The WhatsApp group was started for all the members who meet and trust me, there are lots of things discussed other than these meets. More over the positions in the WhatsApp group are auctioned so you can place your bet. All you need is a good phone and 3G data connection to handle the traffic. And a lot of patience to read all the .... Well I better not say word here.

I do know what "Fortnightly" means…but that does not mean your fortnightly and my assumption of the date be the same, so its better to put a date at least.

Since you did not understand, let me simplify it for you.

Assuming you had your meet on friday the 20th of June, the next would be the 4th of july. If others don't know only when you had your last meet, how do they plan when the next one is going to be. Even if its cancelled for whatever reason, how do people who are not on the BBM/ Whatapp group know about it?. I do hope you don't expect someone (no contact with anyone except via the meets page) assuming the meet date to just come and wait at powai aimlessly, not knowing they have calculated the dates wrong.

Agreed Swapnil, The whole idea is that pictures are posted much after your meets. If i go by the dates when the picture is posted, they don't coincide with the next meet date. How does one who has just started following the meets thread know when you had the last meet or when is the next one scheduled for?. Now that you have put up a date (11th) a person who can make it will and someone who could not can calculate the next one and keep his schedule free for it.

I did mention before, i am in town and coming to powai for a an hour in peek traffic makes no sense. If you'll are have a longer meet or a zombie drive, please do count me in.

Thanks Guys and didn't mean to offend anyone.

It already was simple.

When the meet happens - its reported here and pics are also uploaded if possible.

If the meet is cancelled or not happening its always reported here so people are aware. Thats why this thread is for !

Frankly its simple - stop trying to make it complicated.

Its reported after the meet happens..

I don't see it happening and hence i wrote..

I guess its too much of a bother for you to put up a date of a meet..anyways. Thanks for your feedback..wont bother you'll anymore. Cheers.

Dudes Dudes Dudes!

Chill!

The whatsapp group has discussions which range from cars to anything under the sun and the dates of the next meet are hardly discussed. Just PM SDP and he'll add you to the group. The count is touching 50 and the last available seats come at a premium.

Scrolling a few pages behind in the thread will give an idea of the date of the last fortnightly meet and the calculation get's simple. However the point is noted. If the person who updates the thread with pictures of the last meet also mentions the date of the next one it will just get a wee bit simpler for everyone on the forum.

Guys, I am going the old fashioned way with a suggestion for the next meet scheduled for Friday - July 11th.

Ramadan is going on and the aroma of the delicious food from the stalls in Mohammed Ali Road beckons us. Why not meet somewhere town side late Friday evening where there is ample parking available and then all of us can head to Mohammadali Road by cab as it's nightmarish to park in the area.

It doesn't matter if we reach late after work as the stalls serving the food are open quite late.

Anyone concurs with me?

This is a good idea. Might I suggest the following link for ideas regarding a food trail around Mohammed Ali Road?

Rajwant, that sounds like a good idea. Let's see how it goes. I might have to miss out this Fridays meet as it's my sisters birthday. So I'll need to be home early.

Vinay and Swaps,

Let's see how it goes. Not many ayes as of now and it's already Tuesday. If there are votes for planning this some other time we can do it that way.

Best,

Rajwant B

I guess friday, saturday and sunday will be too crowded, why not any other week day?
I remember coming home almost hungry last year since I went on a Saturday!
