Re: Feb 2014: Team-BHP Bangalore Overnight Meet

^^^ Indeed sir! It has regular two wheels and handle bar with good breaks If I can rent one, or two nothing like it! The early morning it will be fun riding a bike on beach for an hour with my 7yr old - before any of our convoy members get up for the day to begin.

Anil (sandsun7), waiting for you sir!

There is a 4km long road running parallel to the beach besides which our resorts are located. There are also some interior roads perpendicular to this beach road. May be you could cycle around all these roads. There is plenty of greenery all around.

Sorry, sir, I don't think anybody rents out cycles nowadays there. Used to be common during my schooling days, but not very optimistic about finding one now.

Re: Feb 2014: Team-BHP Bangalore Overnight Meet

Folks: The countdown has begun and in n two weeks we will (rock n) roll.

A curtain raiser -

Drive advisory:

Observe road rules at all times.

Members are free to stay in the convoy or leave, as they please

a. Members who leave:

- to *put their rides thru its paces, shall halt at the designated regroup towns, on the outskirts, at a convenient point determined by the member in the lead

- Outskirts = say about 1/2 km before town limits

- Group departs only after the last car has arrived

* Beware of sudden & unpredictable local jaywalkers/vehicles/animals/road conditions-humps, potholes et al

b. For members in convoy:

- The designated lead car shall bring up the rest following the convoy principle "It is each individual driver's responsibility to keep the vehicle behind him or her in sight, insuring the group stays together."

- All vehicles (except the 'sweeper') are responsible for the vehicle behind, at all times. They must always wait at all intersections and cross roads so that the car behind does not get lost.

- No vehicle to pass lead car, unless in an emergency.

- Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front at all times especially when in hilly terrain or when brakes are wet.

The above protocol is for safety and convenience and for everyone to observe

c. Better safe than sorry –

1. Carry adequate **cash, water, personal medication, munchies and first aid
2. Carry vehicle documents, preferably in original and ensure your ride is shipshape and tanked up before departure.
3. Keep emergency numbers handy, in case of need.
4. Disclaimer: Untoward event/s, if any, shall be the sole responsibility of the member/s involved. Organizer/s, TBHP take no responsibility for such unforeseen mishaps.

**ATMs may not work, credit cards may not be accepted

Cheers

May I suggest everyone to send PM to Ravi sir with their mobile number? He can create a whatsapp group of all confirmed attendees and we can use that to communicate with everyone in real time. Of course that needs phones with data connection but even otherwise, at least one person will have everyone's contact to be able to SMS/ call.

Or if Ravi sir has the contacts of everyone already, please create a whatsapp group just two days prior to trip if none minds

1. Diesel_convert's 50 kmph response was to the operative word 'average'.

2. We should be able to cruise at 80+/- kmph depending on terrain/road/traffic conditions and as determined by any car in the convoy which may get slowed down.

3. Adding to what Diesel_convert, has stated, any member leaving the convoy/group, for whatever reason, must give advance intimation to the lead car.

4. Btw, it is not the convoy that waits at regroup points.

It is our 'pedal-happy' members who have sped away, who wait at regroup points for the convoy to catch up with them.
A well intended 'limiter' for them to catch their breath

IIRC there is a ban on hookah smoking in public places. You might want to consider that too.

No i will have it in my room (not outside) and i think the ban is on serving, not having. Anyone else is welcome to join. If its offensive i wont bring it along. That is all i wanted to know.
Thank you
