I know the road till Anjanapura (point E on the map that I've sent, after that dunno how the road is). Till that place it's an easy ride (easy for me so should be piece of cake for a fit person).
Ok then we will meet tomorrow at 7am sharp near IIMB.

May be we can meet near Brigade Millenium entrance as discussed? Puttenahalli side, i.e. where the Coffee Day/Nilgiris etc are there.

Check point B on this map (near Ganesha Temple), we can meet here - https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=U...p=1&sz=18&z=17

Or even at point C i.e. entrance of Brigade Millennium (puttenahalli lake side)..
Karthikk, which way would you be coming? Let's meet by 7am?
Regards,

Oh, that's bad :(. Yup, so now it seem it's only brraj and me on bicycles We'll see how far we can actually make it to. 10-15kms (one way) shouldn't be any big issue. More than 20 is when I get a tired. I dunno how those regular cyclists ride 50kms one way so easily..

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

A nice meet today

Almost all T-BHP Safari owners met at Hotel Lalit Ashok (5-Star Luxury Hotel), the meet was organised by Mr Premanand Shenoy MD Prerana Motors - TASS and our T-BHP member LukeSkywalker was instrumental in grouping us for this wonderful meet

We are given the ARIA experience program, wherein each of the 39 T-BHPíans will be provided with the ARIA for a couple of days. Fantastic Ambience, Yummy food, overall a superb meet.

Matt black Safari owner is Bharat Yekkaluri. Unfortunately he is not member of T-Bhp. We both discussed a lot when he was buying his Safari after I bought in September 2010. He has got real passion for car, bikes and he tastefully done-up his Safari with Matt Black with Red color, HIDs with projector and yes nice seats.

He is dear friend and nice gentle young man.

It was indeed a nice meet, Pavan there were 32 guests and around 12 safari guys, the forum members numbered 22.

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

As planned left Bangalore at 7am on 8th July Saturday with a Gear and Gear-less cycle from brigade millinium entrance JP nagar.

This is my first long ride after 15years in a gear-less cycle, Total distance covered by kaushik and me was 30kms.

I was in dilemma as to do this trip at all because many can do a 30km cycling in gear cycle but gearless cycle? later decided to go ahead because i can return back at any point of time if i feel i couldn't do it.

We did not take kanakapura road to reach vaderahalli lake but took another route which is calm and no traffic atall.

First break above NICE roads. Kaushik tells me cycles are not allowed in NICE roads.

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

Enroute sceneries.
Quick Meets at Bangalore-img_3679.jpg

END of Tarmac roads, from here on we did not find a single person till Vaderahalli lake.
Quick Meets at Bangalore-img_3680.jpg

Stopped at this point thinking which way to go? but as we had google maps we did not worry at all. A quick surf and it pointed us towards right.

Dry nuts to keep us Energized.
Quick Meets at Bangalore-img_3684.jpg

The more we ride, we see roads are getting narrower. I had a feeling that we have entered forest.
Quick Meets at Bangalore-img_3685.jpg

Now even geared cycles are struggeling.

Thanks.

All started from this thread

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...alli-lake.html

and wanted to check what the cycling world is all about. Its awesome fun if you have the right bike with right gear. But before spending 20+k on a geared cycle wanted to check it myself if its good investement or not.

Also its one of the best ways to lose weight, be fit and have fun.

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

wow! you guys had fun, eh? how's that body ache coming?

OT:

reminds me of the time i went mountain biking with my cousin in Boise. we drove up to the base of the hill in a Pathfinder with the cycles attached at the back. took out the cycles and started the climb. at the beginning it was bearable, but then the steep inclines started and my legs were getting weak. eventually, i ended up pushing my cycle up while my more experienced cousin rode it up. all the way up other bikers were clapping and encouraging my push-the-cycle effort

once we reached the top, i thought its over and i can finally rest; boy was i so wrong. that's when we started the bone-jarring decent - it was scarier that the ascent!! well, to make a long story short - i wasn't able to get out of the bed for two days!!

never touched a cycle after that *green grinning fella*

Great inspiration. And in a place like Bangalore it should be even better as the weather is favorable. So bike hunting has started now, eh?
