Quick Meets at Bangalore

It was short and sweet trip to Kanva Dam. Almost all of them were at meeting spot around 7:30 - 7:45am except kathikk. Asusual sunday morning drive on mysore road means traffic.

Driving with Q5 and X6 was fun, Initial acceleration of these machines are brutal.
Its difficult to find people who can do justice to these machines, but we were lucky.

After having breakfast in kamat entered the roads which leads to Kanva dam.

Empty narrow roads.

Only traffic we encountered.

Water is collected only from rains unlike rivers joining it.

Nice pics there raj. Terribly sorry for not coming. I went to a movie on saturday night, and overslept yesterday morning only to wake up at 8am.

Next time I will keep multiple alarms

People have Come-Cooked-Enjoyed the breeze here.

Good that this place is not exploited by many as few people know it.

Clear waters

Lot of birding opps though not as good as Ranganthittu.

Is the road motorable all the way till the water? By sedan standards of ground clearance? The place looks very quiet and peaceful. Looks good for a day picnic - carrying lunch, unpacking and eating it here on the banks of this dam. Sadly I missed this drive. Next week drive location?

We wanted to go the other side of dam so turning around

Off-roading starts to reach the place where we can find lot of birding opps.

I have to appritiate this benz guy for his courage to get it to off-roading, not many would dare to get theirs even though its doable.

Thanks Rajeev, Ashish is the name of this benz guy

All thanks to good GC by Indian standards. In fact, the earlier trip to Chikmagalur was even worse as far as roads were concerned. This was still OK.
BTW as you rightly mentioned it was a short and sweet trip. It was nice meeting all you folks. Looking forward to many such trips.

Definitely can think of some place. But brraj will know practically every place around Bangalore, very difficult to think of unexplored places

What if we go to Kanakapura road side - say Galibore or Bheemeshwari or thereabouts for a change? Both are around 100km from here and the roads are scenic. Even Shivanasamudra falls would be ok now, since the rains will have refilled the water levels.

Date - this weekend OR Independence day. You guys decide. I am fine with both
