How far is this KRS backwaters place from bangalore ?
KRS backwaters - ~120-130kms I think
ShivanaSamudra falls - 110km

These were the only 2 places earlier suggested. If someone else has any suggestions, lets add it to the list and vote later. I am ok with any place

@mannubhai - it is definitely sunday now, since most people have voted for that day.

@H4wk, even I don't know about this backwaters place. brraj needs to confirm whether it is the same KRS dam that tourists visit. If it is known to be too crowded, lets knock it off. I sms'ed Schoudhury, aviorp, vik0728, kaushik_s and asdon now. Help is arriving!

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

Shivanasamudra sound good. BUt how are the road conditions to this place. Last time i had gone on that road to BR hills, most part of it till kollegal was only suitable for my Xylo.

Both places mentioned will be crowded i guess.

There are good places and would have suggested but it will cross 250kms one way. So these are the near by options.

- Muttati through sathnur road (senic spot)

- KRS backwaters

I have been to Chunchi falls. Nice little place. It is on the Galibore route along Kanakapura, the road which goes to Cauvery Sangama. Road quality will be good overall, just a little bumpy in a few places but nothing else. The other 3 options also sound good. Muthathi is on the Bheemeshwari route along Kanakapura town again, with a slight deviation from Galibore route. I heard that Nh-209 has been retarred recently and is a delight to drive.

Actually we can do both, if there is time. Both roads branch out from Kanakapura. One goes to Muthathi and one more to Sangama.

https://maps.google.co.in/maps?saddr...ra=ls&t=m&z=10

A = my home
B = Chunchi falls
C = Muthathi

There are no eateries that I know of. Raj, any good restaurants in Kanakapura? there was some hotel Gokula or something. rk_sans was mentioning thatte idlis at Harohalli. Are you aware of where in Harohalli this shop is?

We might want to eat breakfast on the way and pack something to munch on later. Once we cross Kanakapura, there is no place for refreshments. Only some small shops where you can buy cool drinks, nothing else

No bikers joining us? n_aditya? rk_sans? ku69rd?

@h4wk - i'll upload some snaps of my previous visit here, in the evening after I get back home. Nothing too attractive. Just some rocky ravines with the river at chunchi falls. Muthathi is a river bank near Bheemeshwari. Both places are quite calm and not plagued by tourists though, thats the good part *smiles*

Lets pack it up when we eat breakfast somewhere. There are a couple of decent restaurants before the AOL ashram. One of them is called Athithi if I'm not wrong. What would the meeting point be? We can even meet up somewhere near JP Nagar and have more choice for restaurants.

2 options -

1. Have breakfast at JP nagar / Kanakpura road early OR
2. Reach Kanakpura town and have breakfast there.
