i am game but lets see the numbers , and the mysore route is getting a bit monotonous , a drive to gopalswamy betta is a good idea , but then timing would be an issue .. that place is breath taking in the early mornings.

May be we drive down to gopalswamy betta early in the morning on Sunday and get back home before evening. Traffic would be lot less in the morning and we can reach the place in about 2hrs i guess. Senior members please suggest.

mapmyindia shows 143KMs Bangalore - Mysore.
Gopalswamy betta should be more than that. Gundlupet from Bangalore is 190KMs. You have to continue towards Bandipur on that road and then at around 20-30 kms of bad road (dont think you can go beyond 40-60 here) you have a right turn towards the betta which may be another ~20 KMs or more. So, it should be ~220+ one way with some bad roads, its definitely not a half day stuff!!

You may be able to make it to mysore in no time but roads after that are not so quick, especially once you cross gundlupet.
you may need to stretch that 2 hour estimation, it seems difficult.

But then tumkur road is in a big mess. I came by tumkur road - nice road - mysore road last time and found that tumkur road is in a very bad condition.

Tumkur road, Krishnagiri road are filled with trucks.
old madras road - Road repair
I guess we have left out with mysore road / BIA road.

As people needs change maybe we can drive to nandi hills spend some time there and get back to Bangalore International airport and hangout in coffee day.

But then that is only a small strip not so complete like the mysore road or the BIA road. The coffee day idea after nandhi hills seems like a good idea to me. Oh! but for the guys who want to drive fast i hope there are no cops there because there are many cops on the BIA road with the speed gun thinggy :P.

Cheers/Shyam
