Well I dont know much about yercaud, but I will start looking up for potential accommodation on the net. If anyone has contacts/more details, then please pitch in. In the meantime, can we make our usual list? And this is not like pondi I guess. Its much farther away and a fixed and confirmed bunch of guys would be easier to handle, as compared to the highly flexible pondi trip.
I am assuming our pondi gang will make it, so i'm taking the privilege of quoting your names.

Anyone have dates for this one ?

Why its such a big deal for having overnighters/podi/xyz and basically "water" meets ?

Whatever happened to Track Days ?
Why not a meet for just the drive ? Is that too much to ask ?

Be it CRDi, DDiS or whatever.
Does't anybody like driving anymore ?

No intention to offend anyone.
I feel too much emphasis is given to location and the festivities that happens on-site.

After all some/most of us are still diesel/petrol heads, right ?

EDIT : Yes, I'm a bad man. I know....!

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but yercaud is around 300km away from chennai if I'm not wrong. At what point did you think that there is no drive involved? Or is his your opinion only because as you previously stated "you dont like highway drives"?

Hotel Shevaroys is a nice place to stay at Yercaud and reasonably priced too.
Phone : 04281-222386 / 223284 / 223287

Do book in advance.

A TTDC hotel is also there - but not even half as good as Shevaroys.

P.S. : There are some nice trekking trails and also unexplored roads for some mild off-roading.

This is my view. I'm not supposed to have one ?
The place is always given the importance and NOT the drive.

I still feel so. Yes, I know the approximate distance and route to Yercaud, Thanks.

As I mentioned before.

I think the "importance to the drive" part reduced after you said you don't like highway drives and we thirunthifyed

j/k

I don't think anyone is rude here. Let us not take things personal.

Feel free to express them. This is a public forum after all.

The last time we tried giving importance to the drive, you said that you dont like highways, and you dont like being driven around.
That doesnt really give you much of an option now does it? Track days do happen, I havent been to the track myself and am waiting for the chance. But when there are a large number of people with a consensus on a given plan, why would you want to ruin it with your "view".

considering you know the distance to yercaud, then also consider that invariably people will want a place to sleep after getting there, hence the importance to the place.

Thanks. I am glad I am still entitled to a few things around here.
Anyway, lets keep all this stuff off the forum.

I know. We dared to go on the road where only cows have dared to go.

Why not? Things were getting dull around here
