Hyderabad: Sep'09 and Oct'09 Meets

Thought of starting a fresh thread for our future meets for this and next month. It's about time we plan for a drive meet.

How about for one on Sep 26/Sep27?

We can plan a day trip to Srisailam ( possible if we leave Hyderabad latest by 6AM) OR we can go again to Vikarabad at that lovely lake and plan a potluck that we thought of last time around?

Thoughts, Thoughts

Found a nice spot just short of Bidar on our last drive there. Picnic would be nice there. You will be able to see it once HRH - RR masters Picassa.

Narsapur forest for another picnic.

Srirangapuram temple off the Kurnool road. Lovely temple in the middle of a lake.

Srisailam is best done overnight but a loooong day trip is possible.

Cheers,

Sep end is not possible for me. I will be driving to Mumbai/ Ahmedabad and possibly home to Rajasthan during that week.

Man, the Red Devil must be feeling constipated since you are not allowing her to really strech her legs and lay some serious exhaust trails.

Avi, yeh atyachar kyun, mere bhai?

The Red beast gets its daily 50km dose of stretching with almost every day scaring away fellow travellers on the gachibowli stretch with a hope of clearing the constipation in spurts and bursts

Avi, weren't you and Ravvs planning a Goa trip on Oct 1st? Did it fizzle out?

I am on vacation from Sep 26th to Oct 4th---need only 3 days leave to get 8 days off (Sep 28th and Oct 2 being holidays). I have many plans, like Goa, Mahabaleshwar, Suryalanka, Vizag, etc, and I hope my plans do not fizzle out this year, as I can't take vacation thereafter till December owing to a project. Therefore I shall keep Team-bhp drives as a backup plan.
I'm game for N'Sagar this weekend, but since daughter is having exams, need to do it alone. Don't mind hopping on to someone's car and sharing the expenses.

Searching for "Bitsians" in "Hyderabad" and on "Team-BHP".

A lunch GTG is being planned at Hyderabad BITS campus near Shameerpet on 20-Sep.

Let me know and I will point you towards the organisers.

Thanks for reminding. Yeah, we did plan initially but i am still game for it seeing that Oct 2nd is a Friday and taking one leave on Thursday can make this trip a possibility. Anyone game?

Since most of us are sunday opters, how about Sep 27 for a drive meet? Destination can be decided? What say?

Disclaimer: If the Goa drive happens then i am out of the Sep drive...LOL

Suryalanka is a big no-no for families, especially on weekends/holidays. Families in a group can manage by huddling together. Weekends/holidays sees a massive stag crowd with their bottles.

Mahabaleshwar - give a thought to Lavasa as an alternative - the problem is that prices go through the roof on weekends/holidays and you need to book much in advance as huge crowds descend from Mumbai/Pune.

Goa and Vizag - weather may not be the best at this time of the year, being sultry and hot, but then, you do get a nice drive and a holiday.

sorry for ot on this thread,

Vnabhi sir is looking for 8 days vacation and Lavasa does not fit as alternative to Mahabaleshwar.

best will be mahabaleshwar[ 2 days]-ganapatipule[2 days]-goa[3 days] and 2 days for to and fro.

now, over to hyd gang.
