Is this place in Hunsur or Nagarhole ? Somewhere closer to Nagarhole would be good..Mar 27/28 looks ok to me now, I hope nothing else crops..Defenitely my wife and 4 yr old son, who are also roadies, would be part of the trip. Our ride would be Chevy Aveo

It comes under Hunsur taluk, and the resort we are looking is located 700 meters before forest entry

Well this one is also deep in jungle, but not in the tiger reserve ofcourse, and thats the same with Bandipur also, you will not get a resort inside Project tiger, well this place is protected by electric fence as there were incidents of some big cats comming on the road, keep your fingures crossed if you want to see something like that.

The rates for weekend is 1800/- but we are getting discount due to heavy headcounts

The rate looks fine as I remember I was charged in teh ranges of 1800/head when I visited Bandipur and Masinagudi forests ! But they were deep in the woods !

And I presume Children of Bodom would be on the agenda of the 'musical' concert ! Lets see the tribals let their hairlocks loose and headbang !

How much distance/travel time does this place work out to from Bangalore ?

I went from Electronic City, and it was 223km one side, about 4.5 hrs including a break in Mandya.

. I might come in my xylo or my M800 depending on my mood on the day of travel.

just a thought, can we explore options for some large home stays? There's one contact details of home stay in the above link.

Also, heard there are few resorts inside the jungle. Can we look for them too?

Hi Deepak,

The homestays are on the other part of the forest which is in Kerala(ok I read the post, its in Kutta, border of Kerala and before the entry to Waynad forest, the bus trip in Nagarahole is not reqd as that can be done in ours cars I know the route), and those are not so exciting, and in Karnataka Part there are only 2 resorts, Kings Sanctuary & Jungle Inn as far as Nagarahole(Rajiv Gandhi National Park) is concerned; these are reserve forests and no one is allowed to build resort inside a Tiger Reserve, Jungle Inn is 700 meters away from forrest entry, Kings Sanctuary is 300-400 meters away, though when you will enter before a Km or 2 you will think that you have entered the forest; I am sure you don't want to know the price list for Kings

. You can check out the homestays if you have contacts I don't have any inclination, but the place I mentioned is perfect for this kind of outings(stayed there 3 times) and their food is the surprise element. And small kids within the age group under one yr might not be a good idea due to different factors - unknown insects in Jungle, sudden medical emergencies etc..

these are marks of 2 young tigers, we were in 2 gypsies distant by 100 meters, so they crossed the road inbetween, by the time I switched on my camera, they went in the bush, my first live viewing of big cat..
