This meet was promised to be the biggest, baddest, most gastronomically fabulous meet of 2011 for the Team-BHP Hydeez. Some people changed their itineraries for this meet, some canceled their meetings. And boy did it exceed all expectations.
Guests started streaming in slowly in typical Nawabi style. But the partying had started as soon as there were just enough guests to make a crowd. The snacks were really tasty and the guests couldn't have enough of it. As Avi already mentioned, the snacks were being devoured in lesser time than new ones could be brought to the table. The Shikampur Mutton kebabs were really as good as advertised and the Pathar Gosht was quite juicy. The fish fry was surprisingly good but many missed the Tartar sauce which would have made it a better combo. The vegetarians were not forgotten and the veg kebabs, manchuria and pakodas were equally delicious (from what I "heard").
As the evening grew longer, the "busy-on-friday-evening-in-office" crowd slowly started pouring in. The crowd started getting more boisterous and the conversations were getting louder. Few who had cameras were clicking random pictures, and Brajesh and Avi kept ensuring that none of the guests were left devoid of the Nizam club hospitality, and more importantly, the delicious food. The "star" snacks of the evening were out-of-stock soon, and then came Reshmi Chicken, Chicken Tikka Kebabs, Cut-Mirchi, Palak pakodas, Onion Pakodas and Cheese Pakodas. Cheese pakodas were an instant hit and also burnt many mouths since the cheese inside was r-e-a-l-l-y hottt...!!!!!!
Arcot was in his true element and entertained everyone mimicking dialogues from the movie "The Angrez" in true
Hyderabadi ishtyle. After the entertainment was over, dinner was served with the highlight being Dum Ka Murg and Mutton Biryani. The tadka dal was fabulous and Paneer Butter Masala was also nice. Trifle Pudding for dessert was the best end to this gastronomic journey of Nawabi cuisine and everyone was soon saying their goodbye's for the night. But in true T-Bhp style, at midnight, a (drive) plan was hatched to go to Famous Ice Creams, Mozamjahi Market where we all hogged on their popular Mango, Litchi and Chikoo ice creams.
Some more plans were being hatched to drive till Charminar and take some more group photos, but that got buried in the tired faces of many participants, and maybe relegated to the next dinner meet.
All in all it was a great party and a big thanks goes out to Brajesh and Avi for organising and making it happen. We should have such get-togethers more frequently
Eagerly looking forward to the photos.
P.S. : My wife also had an equally great time and has penned her own account of last night's party. Below is an in-literatim account in her own words:

Had a sumptuous Nizami feast in the company of wonderful bhpians at the Nizam club last night. Lively conversations and some wonderful mimicry by Arcot bhai set the tempo for the evening. "Eat, drink and Be Merry" was the mantra of the evening. Lip smacking non-veg starters of shikhampura kababs , apollo fish, pathar ka gosht, reshmi kababs and chicken tikkas had the evening rolling. Platters of veg manchuria, veg cutlets and some yummy cheese, onion and palak pakoras set the evening rolling for the veggie lovers. Appetizers working their way into starved enough systems had everyone suddenly coming to life and soon enough socializing was at its peak...The banquet hall was bustling and buzzing with a whole variety of conversations, with each and everyone taking part and relishing every moment. Dum ka murg, mutton biryani, veg fried rice, paneer butter masala, and dal tadka dominated the main course..Trifle pudding ruled the dessert counter!!
Now one would say 'What a wonderful end to an evening!!' But waittt there's more....Never ending conversations being carried downstairs right up to the car park and someone suddenly suggesting a drive to the 'Famous Ice cream' adda.. Soon enough everyone found themselves driving down to the place and hogging on some mouth melting mango, chickoo and litchee icecreams..phewww..
Delicious delicacies and cheerful conversation in the company of dynamic bhpians made up for an ineffable evening. Though the main highlight of the evening being an 'equal and enthusiastic participation' by the female counterparts. I was one of them and had a lovely time. A to the organizers of this wonderful evening and looking forward to many such lively and refreshing evenings!!!
