Could be M&M's way of testing the bolt for the dead pedal before the US launch. :uncontrol

The thought did occur to me, but there is no dead pedal required for the right-hand seat - US spec vehicles ought to have a bolt sticking out near the left foot of the left-hand seat! That there isn't, mercifully! :D

There seems to be no other option except to have the motor replaced.

Thanks for the suggession, buddy. I wonder how can the motor occationaly not to work, though. The other problem is that I need it to be in the faulty state when I take it to A.S.S

In Auto there is that dead pedal we are talking about, maybe this bolt is for auto transmission and looking at how it goes they have calculated is wrong, for 5% people they have created problem for 95% lol:

Thats the way it has been with my Scorp, things working / not working ocassionally, so M&M and the A.S.S. take me seriously now.

Exactly, i had the similar experience. Suddenly, the window will stop working and when i take it to the A.S.S and it will work in front of them. they said, it might need some lubrication but the issue still remained. Then, they decided to change the motor.

Hi,

Yesterday I had to visit the A.S.C for getting the reverse switch(in or near the gear box) replaced as my car's rear parking sensors, camera & reverse lights all would be in active mode irrespective of the gear I drive the car.

My car would be making beeping sounds when I am driving ahead whenever there was a vehicle close behind my car.(minus the lil loud beep, I actually liked the intimation from the rear for us to be careful from being rear ended clap:

I never faced this reverse switch issue in my earlier scorpio. Did any of you had similiar experiences?

Not till now. but i do feel i will face a lot of issues by the end of this monsoon. my car is being abused like hell because of the poor roads in mumbai.

i am expecting a lot of squeaking & rattling soon. also, worn out suspension bushes.

Thanks for your advice. I went to A.S.S and asked them to replace the motor straight. With some initial reluctant, finally they replaced it. And it is working fine till date. Thanks again. :)

Thats great, there are times when we need to put our foot down, specially after having spent 10 lacs +.

I have noticed over the last few weeks I am having a tough time shifting to 2nd gear on my 6 yrs old scorpio. I am wondering what could be an issue ? I do not trust ASC in Bangalore ( none for that matter, have tried Sireesh, SKS and India Garage ) and all are bad. Would appreciate if you can give me some pointers, I have changed the gear assembly ( > Rs 13K incl laboor ) in dec 2009 so was expecting this problem

Hi Guys,

its great to see this thread going so strong, obviously thanks to the beast thats the Scorpio.

I have a 2.6 Crde (Nov'08) model and have clocked over 35,000 kms recently. I have two problems:

1. I have 16 inch Yokohama wheels with alloys put, and when i cross 110 -120 kmph the steering tends to vibrate. I have got wheel alignment and balancing done but this problem creeps up every few months. Most mechanics say its because of the larger tyres. Any one else facing similar problems??

2. There is this squeaking noise from the under carriage, i thought it maybe the suspension so i asked the dealership to check in the last service. They are saying its coming from the tyres and not suspension. Again since many members have alloys put on their Scorpios has anyone faced any similar problems.

I would love to hear your feedback before taking the next step to rectify the above problems.

Thanks a lot ! Drive safe !

My 8 month oldie has chronic seemingly unsolvable problems

1, Completely Jammed power windows on passenger side. earlier they would start working before servicing - and they would do some tinkering around - now completetly jammed - what should I ask for in next visit to SC?

2. My passenger window every 2-3 days comes up with grease on the window pane. Will lose my rather expensive sunfilm if I keep applying those solvents to remove the grease.

3. Very fast discharge of battery on the key? not that I keep it pressed - twice it has been changed by service center.

4. Moisture in one the headlamps - anyone knows full proof way to getting it cleared w/o going to service center?

5. The mudflaps at the back - one of them has started cracking and the other one is getting chipped. It goes offroad but I am careful - dont know what has been causing this damage. will they replace under warranty?:) anyone knows any other more "flexible" and robust options than the default.

Otherwise a painless and pleasant drive so far.
Cheers
.

My suggestions below, these are minor issues and be taken care at the A.S.S. easily:

Window Driver Motor replacement, insist on it.

2. My passenger window every 2-3 days comes up with grease on the window pane. Will lose my rather expensive sunfilm if I keep applying those solvents to remove the grease.

Get the panel opened and have the exces grease cleaned.

3. Very fast discharge of battery on the key? not that I keep it pressed - twice it has been changed by service center.

Get the remote replaced (does it happen on both of them ?)

4. Moisture in one the headlamps - anyone knows full proof way to getting it cleared w/o going to service center?

Temp. solution is to use a hair drier and get the selent around the headlamp checked.

5. The mudflaps at the back - one of them has started cracking and the other one is getting chipped. It goes offroad but I am careful - dont know what has been causing this damage. will they replace under warranty?:) anyone knows any other more "flexible" and robust options than the default.

Not sure if they will cover a plastic part under warrenty.

Otherwise a painless and pleasant drive so far.

Hi, I would suggest that you get a second opinion, the A.S.S. would see one thing aftermarket and pin the problem on it, the issue could still be with the whel alignment and suspension.

Mods can shift this to the Scorpio Issues & Solutions Thread.

.

This is not grease, this is basically the sound damping pad "material", this pad is a black paste applied on the door and covered with silver foil[this is a crude description] it seems to be of very low quality and it tend to get out and stick in the path on the glass when you lower it down[I hope the grease that you see is always on the outer side and not in the inner side], the easy fix is just to remove that pad and thats what the A.S.S will do any way, you need to be there with them to tell them to replace that with other "good" one!

How do I know this? I had the same problem and same thought from where grease is coming so I watch each and every thing and asked them to replace the dampening pad with new one!
