They are confident that the springs on both are the same. Could you please confirm?
I never went for the change,as my car does not scrape with the existing GC.
And GC upgrade screws ups the looks of a Linea.

Is better to go for a whole Tyre change when its worn out. 195/ 65 / r15 is the best option, this tyre will only give you better ground clearance without any issue. since this tyres width is same as the stock ones.

But the tyre may foul with the wheel well under full load

The stock tyres are 195/60/R15, my cars belly scraps when the tyre pressure is less than 32 PSI. its just only a few millimeter difference that makes the impact. I have done 35K KM now and if i can make a 1 cm in ground clearance that is enough for preventing the car's belly being scrapped, this upsize tyre will give 1 cm to the ground clearance.
If the 195/65/R15 foul when we have full load then the stock one (195/60/R15) will also foul when its full load.

Do you have any unpleasant experience with the 195/65/R15 tyre when the car is fully loaded. Kindly share your experience with us. Real experience can only make things refined.

thanks

Re: Official ground clearance upgrade package for Linea/Punto @ Rs. 10,000

Can anybody please confirm if the pre-2012 models had an anti roll bar? The reason I ask this is because the anti roll bar is the same in old and new models, as per Fiat service center. So, my guess is that the older cars did not have any anti-roll bar at all.

Re: Official ground clearance upgrade package for Linea/Punto @ Rs. 10,000

I got the height kit installed yesterday on my 95K, 6 year old Linea MJD.

The difference is very visible. The height increase and the stiffer suspension setup makes quite a difference. The overall feel of the car does change.

I needed the suspension change since it was nearing 100K and I am planning a trip to south india this month.

I do feel that a few parts were un-necessarily changed, but then the SA at Jay-Vijay is a pretty decent guy and I decided to trust him. Would love your inputs on the attached bill.

Hi
I have a broken suspension on my 1.4 Fire Linea and considering the GC kit. The SA at Jay Vijay quoted that all parts (strut pads, link rod, bushes et al) had to be changed (the GC kit itself costs 13k which includes 4 shock absorbers and 2 coils). How was your experience, is there a way I can speak to you about this, I am in Pune as well.

Sorry for the late reply. My experience is excellent!! I am currently on a drive to Sakleshpur and it has been wonderful not to worry about the speed breakers even with a full car!! The raised height does look weird but serves the purpose very well.

We can continue the discussion on this forum so that it will be useful for others as well.

Great to hear that !

Did you face any issues with ride quality after the kit was installed?

One of my colleague would like to get it installed on his pre-worshiped Linea and is in the process of approaching Jay-Vijay. However he is skeptical about ride quality post modifications.

I've installed the GC kit in my Linea since a year or so.

I personally don't find any significant difference in the ride quality or even handling.

Before installing the kit, I had added aluminum studds at the rear (cost just ~1.5k). That worked quite ok too actually. But it was a temporary fix IMO.

Hi, I've installed the GC update kit on my 2009 Linea MJD around 3 months back. Post update, I would say I'm relieved. Speed breakers and potholes have become less scary. Regarding the ride quality, there is no marked difference. If I'm using the right term, I think it has become bit 'stiff'.

Since for me, GC was an issue earlier, I went for it and I would definitely recommend this.

Absolutely no issues, except that the suspensions now are a bit stiff, which is a good thing on our roads. Linea in those days had very very soft suspensions, resulting in "pitching" on braking. That has now completely been eliminated.

I also felt a small reduction in the turning radius after the suspension upgrade.

My only suggestion will be to check on what parts are really required to be changed for this upgrade. I believe Jay-Vijay changes a few parts which are not required to bump up the price.

Re: Official ground clearance upgrade package for Linea/Punto @ Rs. 10,000

Reviving a very old thread

My pre-2012 is scrapping a little more than it used to. It has done 68k kms. I am thinking of increased GC kit. I was wondering if I should also change the tyres to 205/60/16 instead of 205/55/16. Anyone who has done this?

Oh, wow! 16"?! Does this work for a Punto? I have a 2011 MJD Punto.

Sticking to the subject. I got the GC Kit installed in 2013 /2015; (I don't remember exactly the year) - Yes, I was able to drive through the speed breakers effortlessly. But, soon, I started feeling the body roll. Plus, the dogs are able to get underneath the car.

I thought it was better before.

I wish to remove the kit. Is it possible to?
