I had to replace the battery ASAP, hence took a plunge and ordered 35AH Amaron Flo on BatteryBhai yesterday morning after discussion on suitability of 35AH battery with the BB Bangalore representative. Installation carried out by BB representatives at our home in the afternoon. Total amount paid after installation Rs. 3200 + tips. This price was after old battery buyback scheme. Fingers crossed. Will be observing the effectiveness of this battery.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

I have to go for a new battery for my 2010 spark. I am geting SF Sonic cheapest at Rs 3200, Amaron @ Rs 3300 and Exide @ Rs 4000. All provide a 2+2 year warranty. All batteries are 35AH. Which one is the best bet?

Stay away from SF Sonic. I have burnt my fingers on 2 of these. I have used all 3 and have always got the best life from the Exide. But go for the top version. Please refer to my post a few pages back.

Well, guess what? The SF battery seemed to have a self-destruct timer built inside it. The Brio completed 4 years on May 19, 2016 and the next day (May 20) the car wouldn't crank in the evening.

Jump-started the car and drive home and come Saturday morning took the car to my friendly neighborhood battery guy who confirmed one very weak cell and low cranking voltage of 9V. The car cranked up fine the next morning, but I didn't want to risk having another sudden episode especially since there are a few long drives planned in the coming months. Replaced it with an Amaron Flo with 48 months warranty for INR 3,300.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

I have got battery life of 4-5 years from both, Exide and Amaron in my previous car. The stock Exide in my (self-start only) bike lasted 3 years before I had to replace it due to a wrong diagnosis. It was a wiring problem which was draining the battery. Now the OE SF Sonic battery in my the present car is about to enter its 6th year of service from July.

Recently I changed my car (Punto) stock battery to Amaron from batterywale.com. They are the official online distributor for Amaron. Their service is really fast and pretty good.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

Ordered Amaron AAM-FL-565106590 for my Ritz Diesel from Car Battery Expert this morning. Installations will be done on Saturday on my preference. Stock Exide battery has run almost, 46 months and 62000+ KM. However last 1 year was not so good with battery performance. I did not change it earlier as my use for Ritz became virtually NIL since when I moved to home in Delhi.

Will update on experience of Car Battery Expert and Amaron Performance.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

My Linea's Exide battery died on me yesterday (Its ~3.5 yrs old).

Bought a 60-DIN Tata Green "Silver Plus" unit for my FIAT Linea (MJD) Diesel.

Was going to choose Amara Raja (Amron) Battery, but the 1st seller was expressing doubts if any other battery except 50-DIN would fit, & 2nd seller was taking time to respond. So, went ahead with the TATA Green Silver Plus.

Similar to Amaron, these TATA Green guys offered a 24+24m warranty.

Will keep the forum updated on its long term performance.

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

The time clock in my Linea started blinking after changing the battery. Even date has gotten reset.

What to do ? Will I have to take it to ASC ?

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

My Skoda Rapid OEM battery (Exide) started giving trouble after 50 months of usage. Good performance. However replaced it with Amaron battery today. This is the first time I will be using Amaron battery. Got it at a very competitive rate (4800 for DIN60) from nearby battery shop.

Seems to be a good offer. Is this the exchange price?

Re: Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

I replaced both my Skoda Superb Battery (DIN 60 Ah) and my Toyota Fortuner Battery (85Ah) this month with EXIDE MILEAGE batteries. As my original Fortuner Battery was EXIDE and lasted me full 5 years, I decided to stick to the OEM. The Original VARTA Battery on the Superb (Made in Czechoslovakia) lasted me 4 years. Both costed me 4500 each after giving back the old battery.

The Superb Battery (FMIO-MREDEIN60) MRP 6630/-,

came with a 4 year warranty

while the Fortuner one (FMI0-MI105D31L) MRP 6500/-,

came with a 3 year warranty. Amaron were cheaper by 5-600 bucks but I decided to stick with my 'trusted' brand.

Cheers...
