Which is the Best Car Battery Brand?

Hi,

I was searching for similar thread but couldn't found any so starting new one .

I am planning to buy inverter and it will need 2 batteries. Exide is costliest but at my brothers home we bought 2 exide inverter batteries and both had problems and are sent back for replacement since last 1 and half month but haven't heard back from dealer. Exide is costliest but still have service problems etc! Or may be we got lemon piece.

Anyway, What other brands are good apart from Exide ? I am also given options for

AMCO
AMMERON
PRESTOLITE

Are these other brands good ? Any service issues etc.,?

Also, please share your experience with all kind of batteries and dealer network. Please keep this concentrated on batteries only, it will help many others decide buying batteries.

Thanks for valuable replies.

If money is no object, the Optima range of batteries are really the best. Though I've not used them personally, I've heard a lot of good things about them. They also claim that the battery will outlast the car its in!

From the regular battery range, I've had terrible experiences with Exide. They are rubbish. I've used Amaron, and have no complaints with them.

I'll stick to PANASONIC or OPTIMA.
I've used them about 3 years ago.

All batteries are the same - And the extended warranties is a farce.. They buy back your old battery for a fancy price ... This forces you to stay with the brand. I have tried almost all brands including Amaron and did not find any spectacular differrence in everyday driving. My personal favorite is Exide though!

Exide Eternity is the new maintaince free battery from Exide..! Its sealed so no re-fill's of electrolyte + Its not a Buy Back Battery, its a life time replacement warranty for the battery something like your Simrtronic's or Trancend Computer RAM's...!

Exide is still by large India's most preferred OEM battery and replacement spare..!
