My question to the folks here, he was told that the map will "calibrate" in a few days and then he will feel the real potential of the remap! Is this really true?
Volkswagen has advance ECU from Bosch , it doesn't need days to learn just few kms thats it. Have fun with the car.

Re: ECU Remaps : About Tools, Software & Tuners!

Normal- mildly spirited driving all is well, but even short bursts of WOT,I'm seeing 70 and the coolant temp goes to 110. Not sure what's happening! Any suggestions? Upgrade intercooler?

Ok, that explains the higher IAT. Coolant temperature at 110 degrees doesn't look good. My Stage 3 1.6 diesel doesn't cross 100 degrees.

What are the IAT's that you experience in your S-cross. I was shocked to see such high IAT's on the Jetta.

My car is running stage 3 map but the IC upgrade is pending. I do hit 70+ when redlined in 4th gear. It should drop to 50 after IC upgrade.

Re: ECU Remaps : About Tools, Software & Tuners!

So I got my Kodiaq remapped today by Quantum and wow! Now it feels explosive almost like my Octavia tsi. I can't check on dyno but the difference is immediately noticeable. Almost all the lag is gone. Being a light footed driver, previously the car felt underpowered but now that feeling is gone, there is power on tap.

The whole process to remap took around 45 mins for my car. The dealer takes the stock file which is sent to Quantum UK offices where it is modified and sent back to be re-written. I had 3 options for remap: Eco (green), Hybrid (blue) and Power (red). Hybrid being mix of increase in power as well as some fuel efficiency. I went with power as that's what I wanted. They have 30 days money back guarantee (minus some admin charges) and can change to other remap during this time for free. Would have been great if you could put all those remaps to your driving modes.

Have driven about 50kms since and am already happy with the outcome. Will be checking using full-tank method how it has affected economy.

Re: ECU Remaps : About Tools, Software & Tuners!

Any recommendation between Quantum (RaceKraft is the dealer) and Code6 for performing Stage 1 Tune of the F30 320D.

This is in Hyderabad and cost is almost the same, give or take a few thousand.

You can choose any of them. Also have a look at E Tuners, Hyderabad.

Thanks Doc, connected with E Tuners, their remap includes ZF tune along with ECU remap. The other tuners i have spoken to so far only cover ECU retune. Any experience/comments on the ZF tune

I believe even the other two tuners can remap the TCU. Did you mean E tuners is offering ECU + TCU map as a package while others are charging extra for ZF tune ?

Re: ECU Remaps : About Tools, Software & Tuners!

I'm looking to remap my 1.5 tdci in Hyderabad.
Had a word with racekraft, they seem to be the official dealer for Quantum UK. They didn't feel EGR soft delete was important for stage1. Said EGR cleaning every 70k Kms would be enough. They're charging 24k.

Spoke to wolfmoto about the same and they charge 25k

Which one of them would be the best option for the tdci?

EGR delete won't result in any significant gains. But , it will keep the intake manifold clean and engine would be healthier.

I have driven a fellow BHPians Wolf Tuned Figo diesel and loved it. The car is also doing well without any issues. I read good things about Quantum too for 1.5 TDCI

WolfMoto is the best. Probably, check if they are coming to BLR. That can also be a long drive with remapped TDCI.
