Re: Review: Liqui Moly Cera Tec Friction Modifier in my Skoda Laura

I have added half bottle of Ceratec into Tata Nano which had run around 44K KM.
Engine oil was changed around 42K KM during Aug 2024 at TASS as part of annual service.
My observation of driven 1000KM post adding Ceratec, engine feels very smooth. Even during early morning cold starts, engine is smooth and less noisy.
Engine is rev happy!
Initially thought it’s placebo effect but wife (doesn’t know of adding Ceratec) also noticed the change in engine noise and smoothness.
Have not noticed any change in fuel efficiency. I still get around 15KMPL in Bangalore traffic with AC on.
Not sure technically what the liquid in the aluminium bottle is made off, it definitely has made the engine smooth.

I used to think CERATEC IS FOR DIESEL ENGINES ONLY

During the last engine oil change, I used a flush, since then there is harshness and noise, so I am thinking of flushing again and then put ceratec.
What do you feel?
I am quoting a 6 years old post here but since you are well active on forum and still own the same scorpio (I had gone through your recent solo drive to Ladakh travelogue), so asking here.

How did you came out from engine harshness after flush? I am experiencing the same situation.

Not necessary, it can be used for both petrol and diesel engines. I have checked their website as well.

There are some members in this thread have used it on gasoline engines.

I realized my mistake of using a flush. Using Ceratec helped to some extent and beyond it just lived with it giving time for carbon deposit to pile up

Just last week got servcing done with regular oil and added ceratec again, but no flush. Engine has become smooth and responsive.
