Agree with you, it does not look like a +10 lakh car. Looks cramped for that segment. Dont know how it would be behind the wheels. Will take one for a test drive soon.

it looks like the same car sold here in gulf as Lancer - if its the same then most of u guys are right.
does not look worth the price
the interior is bland as ever nothing to mention about.
the manual may be peppy but the auto versions sold here are lethargic. not a very confidence inspiring auto tranny when u have to exit roundabouts.
a corolla is way ahead of the lancer refinement and everything else above all its the resale value which it commands.

the esteem will eat this car in a drag.

a drag is not about '0-100' only ... i know the cedia does not live up to its sporting pretentions .... but cmon ... esteem won't even be close to the cedia in a 1/2km drag. you can't really compare the cars

The interiors are better than the gulf versions where the Lancer is sold as an entry-level car.

Autos dont sell in India and I dont think we have even a fraction of the number of roundabouts they have in the middle-east (thankfully!)

Again you're comparing gulf specifications. I felt the Cedia (at least the one I tested) had better levels of refinement than the Corolla. Engine noise is not as intrusive as in the Corolla (which has a nice snort from that rev-happy engine, but it can get on your nerves after a while).

As for resale, dont compare Toyota resale values in the gulf to those in India. Here, Toyota can do no wrong and the resale value that a Corolla commands is ridiculous but you will find the situation is very different in India where the Skoda would command a better resale value - unimaginable in the middle-east.

People dont buy cars to drag them. Definitely no 10-lakh cars. And its a bit ridiculous to compare the Esteem to this car, drag or no drag.

If I am not wrong its the cedia sports rear that you saw.

I am not really a fan of the new cedia but yes some touches as nice as in the NHC zx like the rear lights.

BTW:- How many cedia's have been sold to date? I found numbers from almost every company but HM.

Spoke to one of the dealers in Blore. Apparently they have sold about 15 during Mar most of them being elegance.

15 for a month * 3 months = close to 50 for 30 dealers.

works out to approx 1500 cars roudabout.

but it would be nice to get a real fig. Hows is this compared to the competition?

Devarishi,

Do not know about the rest but the Corolla is doing great . 2 Mitsubishi Dealers in Blore must be doing around 30-40 cedia's a month.

Not many people (maybe except BHPians) have heard about Cedia. This is pathetic and poor marketing from HM. These are the days of hyped marketing, unless you have a superior product which can sell by word of mouth (like Skoda Octavia) and certainly Cedia is not in that league.

Cedia is a generation older than the cars its competing with. Its still potent enogh though.

No use repeating what HM is doing with the mitsubishi brand image. its falling on deaf ears.

All the posts on this thread are about cedia not being marketed properly.

Why not talk about whats good with the car such as the comfort, the loads of torque, the smallest turning radius, looks, price etc.
