vik, thanks for the detailed feedback on the kendas. we need more members to try out new tyres/stuff so others can learn about that. had a few pms with speedkills where he helped a ton.

I visited a pretty reputed tyre dealer here in delhi and spent a lot of time chatting with the owner. he told merits and demerits of all tyres available for the polo. in the end I've made up my mind to go for 195 60 15 michelin primacy st3. primarily because I've had the xm2 on my swift and really like them a lot. comfortable silent and good grip. so I expect the st3 to be a few notches better.

luckily there was a polo with 195 on and looked sufficiently fat to me. I wanted that 205 fat look.

cheers.

I'm happy with the performance. In my opinion, the sluggish initial pick up pre-installation has been taken care of.
The icing on the cake is gotta be the intake growl. It's Eargasmic

Am putting up a YouTube link of the same:

Hi Speed Kills,
Looks like the grey hound has added more ammo now. I will be grateful if you are able to share some details on how the fitting was completed? i.e where you placed the intake tubes and what adjustments were needed.

I own a similar 2011 1.6 and this is my planned upgrade. So any information will be helpful

Hi Chiro,

The addition of the K&N Apollo CAI was a simple process.
You need to take out the stock air filter setup (as highlighted in the pic) & plug in the new set.

I had initially placed the intake tube just behind the lower honeycomb grille. Last monsoon I got rid of the same due to the water clogged roads here. I haven't fixed it since.

Please feel free to message me if you come across any hiccup

Re: Polo 1.6 : My Grey Hound!

Hi Speed Kills, thanks a ton for the quick response. The information is definitely helpful, specially the part on water clogged roads. I live in Mumbai and now in 2 minds based on what you said.
Shall I keep the intake tube at the same position as it is currently?

You're welcome Chiro.

Yes, the intake tube at the current position should be perfect.
Having said that, the intake growl without the tube is really addictive

Re: Polo 1.6 : My Grey Hound!

speed kills, you have an amazing looking car! I wanted to check, how much did the carbon fibre looking 3M wrap cost you? And how was the quality of the wrap on your rear view mirrors, considering the curves and unreachable sections? Are there any unsightly corners, edges that one needs to mentally brace oneself for?
