Nice compact car with diesel efficiency,

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

Congrats on your Chevy Beat. A great car in a lovely colour. Wishing you many happy miles in your beauty. On a lighter note, you have got a really tight parking place. I am reminded of my previous city which had similar 'roads'. I am sure you are one of the best drivers in car reversing.

Your car looks every inch a stunner in that glorious grey colour. And it is a diesel-God sent.

Would like to see her sans the ceremonial dress(ribbons etc). And also her internal virtues.Hope you will oblige in the next posts and publish those coveted snaps.

Did you find her more spacious than the i10? How is the ride in comparison with i10? What upgrades are you planning?

I wish you all the best with the car and have a great driving experience. And drive safe and sound in those tight spots. Do update your thread regularly.
Thanks Charthom
Ride is better in Beat, thanks to great suspension

on space its par with i10 and i10 having beige interior gives an impression of being more spacious

And the height of hump in middle is lesser than i10,still tight for 3 people

Thanks Saanil

Reversing daily is an issue ,but i'm now used to it

Beat D have more GC than petrol and eventhough i had fears of scraping couple of times ,car came out successfully

Is there a way out at least in future? With this it would be impossible for you to own a bigger car sometime in future.
Thanks Mayank

With this in mind,we have already invested on a plot in city where there is enough space for even a tipper

Glued to your ownership thread as of now as a couple of my friends are waiting to get one after the initial reviews are out. Do keep us posted on all aspects of the car including its actual fuel-efficiency, power output, etc. And a lot of pics too!!
Thanks arvi

Did nearly 60km today in city and touched 100kph at 3000rpm 5th gear and with no ICE engine sound can be heard very well inside

dealership had given diesel for 350rs. and so far i have done 140 km with AC 99% (thanks to rain) and 2 blocks remaining so around 20kpl

Will calculate more perfectly once i fill diesel myself

@ Crazydriver: CONGRATS buddy. Some engine bay pics please
Awesome color choice. I suggest that your first preference should be a reverse camera & some parking sensors, which are methoidically fitted to give you distance from side walls. This should be helpful at the night time.
P.S. That black spoiler looks killer on your car, in contrast to the one on the next car.

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

Congrats alot crazybiker46 for buying a New Beat LS Diesel.
The Sandrift grey colour makes it look even better.

How is its Power response on Highways or Open stretch of roads ?
& What's the FE she's delivering nowadays.

20 kmpl. That's a great figure for a brand-new car. Once the engine runs-in and the car's first service is done, I am sure that the mileage will go up further.

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

Just a thought: Suppose a breakdown happens in the middle of the narrow road, would you still be able to open the doors due to the walls? My guess is you would have to be towed out alongwith the vehicle

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

Guys any idea about the run in period for Beat D, people at dealership says there is no run in period for diesel,is it true?

I haven't gone above 3000 rpm,First checkup is at 1000km or 1 month

Installed Garware International SRC Sun Control Film ,having 35% heat rejection ability from Car Shoppy , Trivandrum for Rs.1300

Also bought microfibre towel and car shampoo

I should have read Car Shoppy review thread entirely, time management sucks went at 11AM and finished work at 3PM ,Thanks to a Minister's VW Jetta and a Fiat Linea (furious customer about a spilled perfume) which they were saying priority

Also seeing i haven't done ICE , they were pressing hard to sell me Infinity kappa ovals, had a tough time escaping

Like i mentioned earlier ,touched 100kph at 3000rpm 5th gear

Took some time as i was conscious about the rpm

I would say its 17-18 kpl ,yesterday evening after driving just 2 km i noticed 2 blocks have come down to 1 and reserve starts blinking

drove about 7 km on reserve to reach next pump and petrol pump attendant was pointing i'm at wrong place (diesel) and he was confused when i said its diesel

Thanks ariesonu , its actually crazybiker ,lots of bhpians call me crazydriver

Camera & sensors are future options ,but i was thinking whether i will be able to see via camera in night

LS donot have spoiler, black part is not actually a spoiler

ha ha i won't be able to open door, since its a sloping road ,car would roll by itself

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

@Crazybiker,

I guess I am too late in congratulating you but nevertheless Congratulations on the diesel ride. The colour looks absolutely fantastic on the car.

Happy mile crunching and drive safely.

I am sure you must mastered the art of reverse driving in that narrow lane, do you do it with the ORVM's or IRVM's or just look at the back like the rest of us.

Priceless!

Did you visit Jerry's yet? I went there yesterday searching for P180 DTSi green cotton filter. But unfortunately, it is not in stock and seems like they have a good backlog of orders. So, brother went in for K&N. Will be visiting again to enquire about sound damping.

Saw another Beat D in grey yesterday. Colour looks even better than in pictures! Congrats again...

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

Congratulations on your ride. I've been spotting Beat Ds very frequently here in Kolkata. Seems to be a pretty capable city dweller. Must be oozing of torque this little guy. I say so because last Sunday a Beat D passed me and vanished in no time zigzagging through city traffic.
Off-course as others have already mentioned, splendid choice of color.

I too get confused; we know bikers are crazy and hence the name confuses!

I was there/with Jerish by 845ish.

Re: Chevy Beat D is here!!!!

Congrats a ton Anif

She's a charm to look at, I always had a notion that this car could look good only in funky shades. Proven wrong point blank.

Let's hear more about the ICE'ing at Jerry's. I did see a teaser pic your brother shared on Jerry's profile. Nice picks.

Next thing in the list, rims I hope. Those OE steel ones are disastrous.

Drive safe, stay blessed!
