Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

There is a leakage. I found it out today. On pressing the brakes there is a leakage from pipe. Will take it to workshop today if possible.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

My driver had taken the Safari to the workshop. Just now he has returned and everything is fine. The problem as he is telling me was that the steering rod was touching the brake pipe. And due to use of steering, steering rod was rubbing against the pipe. Due to this the pipe at that point got ruptured and so leakage started. Now they have adjusted the distance between them and Safari is perfectly fine.

Here are the photos of the skid plates of Safari. As you can see that they are pretty solid. Do let me know your views about it. These are only of the rear portion. The ones that I clicked of the front have not come out good so will click again and post them.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Safari has covered 2165 kms. Here is my review

1. Ride as usual is very comfortable.
2. Engine noise has also subdued.
3. The hatch door has started rattling but nothing too annoying. Will get it fixed when Safari goes for its next servicing.
5. Momentarily power loss issue is present.
6. Only problem faced till now was leakage of brake oil but it was a minor fix and got it done at TASS.
7. The AC is good but not effective in the summer heat. It only seems effective when blower speed is set to 3.

Now the mods that I am planning are installing a power horn and a reverse camera.

Planning to get the side cladding and bumpers painted white. Also in June will be going to Ranikhet. My cousin has purchased Maruri Ertiga. If possible I will do a comparo of it with my Safari.

I can only see the fuel tank underside, kindly point out the "skid plates" in the rear.
Also, I don't think Safari has any OE skid plates fixed, the plate in the front is just a sump guard comprising of two independent sheets of metal with a foam padding, the metal starts rusting and flaking under a year's time and the plate is far from strong.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

You are right. Today at the the workshop when the car was lifted up I saw the underbody. Only sump guard in the front portion is present. No other skid plates what so ever.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Your truck looks smart. my mind is seriously now swinging to the Safari after having decided on the Scorpio. the reasons are exactly as you mention in your opening post. the safari LX is clearly better specced than the scorpio and most probably i will get better discounts on the safari as well.

with the launch of the new Safari and duster very close by, somehow, want to wait it out for atleast a month more..lets see !

So what power horn and reverse camera system have you chosen? Please share the details, if you got them installed.

BTW, Vibrasonic / Megasonic suits this beast.

Cheers!

Thanks and yes Safari LX is better than Scorpio in terms of features. Yes Storme seems to be good but I feel it does not have the charm that current Safari has. But yes you will get great discounts on Safari and trust me you will not regret your decision.

Yes these are good. Xenos are also good. But somehow I dont want my new car to be drilled so soon I will put whatever power horn is available. Will also be getting the bumpers and claddings painted to white.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Guys please tell me whether it will be fine to get the claddings and bumpers painted at an independent garage rather than TASS?

Yes, anyday. What matters is the brand of paint being used by the independent garage and as long as they use DuPont, which is the paint used by most OEMs and have a reputation for good finishing, it will be cheaper and better than the ASC.
