Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Yes it is actually cheaper. In TASS the price quoted was 16k but outside I was quoted 7k only.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

@lohithrao Thanks. Here are the pictures of the cladding and bumpers. One goof up they have made is that they have placed SAFARI letters at an angle and also BS4 at an angle. Will get it corrected. Also they had removed the fuel cap to match the colour and they have not fitted it properly. Result is that it is not closing properly. But besides these minor glithches they have done a wonderful job.

Here is my Safari before the cladding and bumpers were painted.

Hi,

Your Safari looks cool now. I think now its time to get front fog lamps and may be the alloys also.

By the way, how much did you pay for the bull bars (front & rear)?

Cheers!

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

btw, how many coats of paint has been used while painting the cladding and bumpers ?

also, is the cladding taken off for painting or just painted by masking the other parts ??

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

@Irish Thanks a lot. The front guard costed Rs. 3000 and the rear one costed Rs.2500. So in all paid around 5500. I am thinking of adding fog lamps and alloya a little later.

@simply_sunny001 Total 4 coats of paint was used and after this polishing was done. Nothing was taken out except the front guard. Rest all the parts were covered.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Finally did a long trip. Covered a total distance from Lucknow to Ranikhet and vice versa of 1000 Kms. The Safari performed exceptionally well. I had done a similar trip in Grande and it was really tiring due to the bouncy ride. But in Safari it is very comfortable. After reaching Ranikhet did a trip to Almora, Chaubatia Garden. There was a noise coming from near the tyre. It was found out to be a small welding on the silencer which had become loose.

On my way back to Lucknow, the rear right tyre got punctured. So replaced it. Apart from this nothing went wrong. Here are some images.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Safari went for its second servicing yesterday. There were no problems to report except some minor squeaks. Total amount that had to be paid was 2500. So all in all I am just enjoying the ownership of this beast.

Re: Dream Comes True -: Tata Safari LX

Updating this thread after a really long time. Safari is going good. No issues faced till now. Touchwod. Yesterday had a very minor accident. A Safari Storme was in front of me. He must have been aroung 60 km/hr. I was also around the same speed. That guy suddenly braked. I also applied brakes but my Safari bumped into the Storme's rear. Nothing major. The front guard of my Safari has moved back and as a result scratch has come on the front bumper. Storme also had a rear guard. Due to collision it bent inwards and there was a 4" crack on the bumper.
Another problem is that the door handle of one of the doors has come out from one end. So I have to get it rectified. So all in all I am really enjoying the beast.
