1. Change of HU and Speakers - I am also interested primarily in improving the sound quality. Have also come across the Philadelphia 835 HU from Blaupunkt as a viable option especially since it comes with satnav. What do you think about it?But did changing the HU/speakers have any effect on the warranty? Did you get these changes updated in the car records in the workshop?

2. Change of tyres - Most TBHPians have suggested a change of tyres at the outset to improve the ride quality and sound. What was your experience with them? Same question about the warranty since the tyre dimensions have changed.

bala80, souravc and any other vento owners : if you are reading this thread, would like your opinion too.

Thank you
I'm happy that you got some info from this thread.

My main objective was good sound, so I didn't think of any brands for HU except Pioneer(Influenced with years of usage in other car).
But I took a while for deciding the speakers, finally went with Focal. Till today I'm very much satisfied. I'm not sure which car record you are referring here.

The part I like in Philadelphia 835, it gives VW OE look. I'm not sure on the sound quality.

The tire change certainly helps, I love my CPC-2. I suggest them for Vento TDI, excellent ones.

On the upgrade what I felt was HU and tire upgrades seems to be very common and no one cares. Then finally you have to make the call

I was looking forward to your reply and I'm more than amazed. DA was the first thing that caught my eye, everyone moving up the ladder. Congrats. Awaiting for your detailed feedback & report. Going by your projector upgrades report, this one would as well be worth the wait.

60K is perfect time to get both disc & pads changed, even if one feels that there is still life in them. VW suggest brake pads change at every 30K and disc change at 60K.

Bill is perfectly normal, given you got brakes & disc changed which itself account for ~7.5K. Only way to reduce bill is to avoid washing, windscreen wiper wash fluid(500 ml bottle comes for Rs. 250 and last long) and wheel alignment & balancing from VW. Outside shops do it for lesser cost but finding one good enough is difficult.

Re: Shadow Blue Diamond - VW Vento TDI HL

How do the CPC2 behave on bad roads and wet conditions? Is the noise level less and more comfortable? In some other threads there mention about very thin sidewall prone to cuts so I am wary to change, but your experience seems to be good with these tyres.

Are you on your second (or third?) set of brake pads? Were the rotors ever skimmed on a lathe?

This is after applying 25% NCB in Bajaj Allianz, I don't understand

I was thinking of buying a polisher for polishing / waxing my Vento, and I understand that a random orbital polisher is better for novices such as me. It's now been quite a while since you've had this, so wanted to get your feedback on it.

It seems you have a different polisher here. Could you possibly share some details about this as well please.

Thanks!

Initially I had Black Decker, Which was not helping me much, Since dia is bigger and you couldn't change the speed.

Now I have Porter Cable, Which is very good. But I got this from US. You could refer this thread for pricing details.
