Are you sure the dealer is giving the discount on Ex-Showroom price ? Usually, its given only on the OTR since they don't want to [well, they can not] change the RTO charging model while changing the Ex-Showroom price.

May be, I am wrong [?]

Prem.
I am mentioning this many times a day because we need to acknowledge the "REAL" selling price of the current Safari and not get lost in the published pricing.
Tafe Reach in Chennai told me that they give this discount on Exshowroom or OTR based on which RTO is registering the vehicle. Apparently some RTOs are strict about the tax inflow to them and others are not insisting on the same

May be OT and need to watch out for our posts getting thrown out of this forum.
When you say "Tafe Reach in Chennai told me that they give this discount on Exshowroom or OTR based on which RTO is registering the vehicle. Apparently some RTOs are strict about the tax inflow to them and others are not insisting on the same", its very clear that the price you get is NOT REAL and can not be considered as base-line since its a kind of golmal/tweak

so my sense on pricing is ( all are Chennai prices )

Safari Lx - 7.75 lakhs ( existing 8.3 exshowroom minus existing discount )
Safari Ex - 9.2 lakhs ( existing 10.02 exshowroom minus existing discount )

STORME LX 9.4-9.5 lakhs ( this is presumably better specced than the Ex )
LXa -9.6 lakhs
It's a total benefit of Rs. 60K and not the discount of 60K.

It seems dealers have received Storme stocks / demo cars. i just saw a white storme followed closely by a white safari and there were about 3-4 guys in each car. Showroom staff. The car looked amazing.

The storm uses very few components from the existing Safari model. So except for the engine almost every thing is new. Yep it is not a new concept like the XUV or the ARIA but is still new from the engineering side of things. The customers in this segment want a significantly improved product which should still retain the +ves of the old one.

No doubt duster ticks boxes but for a person considering the Safari/Storme/XUV500 bracket the duster doesn't tick the most important box of them all, that of a full size SUV.

Being a compact 5 seater with a smaller engine, Duster has its advantages like being easier to drive/park, running costs etc... But if one is looking for a pucca SUV it does fall severely short.

Under invoicing will not be done so openly, and it will not be done by all dealers and if it comes to the notice of the RTO there will be heavy penalties, not that the RTOs are not in the know of the current prices of popular cars.

Wow - this looks really awesome. Safari in the second picture with right side already on the ramp and the other one on the ground show you what this beast is capable of.

This is a complete WOW. Any news on the pricing yet.

Pls visit a show room before making conclusions. You are probably just referring to the offer as you read in the internet

Has anyone noticed that the Storme in the TML teaser - pasted in a post below - looks slightly different. The grill looks trapezoidal and the fogs lamps in the bumper are located closer together, and between the fogs, the bottom lip of the bumper is raised upwards.

@rrsteer, you are correct about the image in the teaser. But if you search the web for pics of the Storme, there are pics of the vehicle with dealers and in those pics, the vehicle has the fogs in the standard position. So not expecting any changes than what we have already come to see.

For me, I want to see the vehicle in person & see if it is actually better looking there than in the pics. And the pricing.

In the teaser picture, I have a stupid question:

Whether the Storm at the back is built by the Safari or the Safari is the result of Storm.
