Would suggest you wait for the Maruti & Hyundai offerings before you take a call since you mention that you don't mind waiting for a couple of months.

Re: Ford EcoSport 1.5L AT: Ownership Review

At close to 20,000 kms, had the reverse camera with IRVM display installed by Chennai Ford at a cost of around 13K - a significant drop in price from the original 27K as seen in the attached picture.

Price drop happened long time back. Other accessory i remember having price drop is the side running board which now cost 11k ish. However prices of accessories like engine guard have increased. Recently purchased front and rear bumper appliques for 8k.

With Overwhelming responses(as per pre bookings at Hyundai) to Creta -Automatic, maybe one can expect a discount or more offers from Ford on their automatic?

Serves them right. They were riding too high on Ecosport. I had booked Ecosport AT last year Dec. 1st week and after 5 months wait, cancelled it when dealer said Ford is unwilling (not unable) to supply to AP. Whatever that meant. If I wanted I could go to Hyd and collect it. I was so badly in need of an AT SUV that I did not mind settling even for a petrol AT. But this attitude threw me off. A month after I cancelled, they called up and said Ford has finally allotted some AT variants for AP and if I booked, I could get one within a week. But, it was too late by then. Now I booked Creta AT which is diesel, too. Ecosport/Duster/Terrano will face the heat. Hyundai is very well-entrenched brand and of late their cars have started looking very premium, a feat which they lacked until advent of Eon. All Hyundai cars looked downright bland and boring until then. But after Eon came, Grand i10 and then Elite i20 and with each passing model they are getting better.

Completed 20,000 kilometers. Picture shows the distance to empty and the fuel gauge after a 340 kilometer return trip from Bengaluru to Chennai.

With the needle hovering about the half way mark, isn't the distance to empty pretty high? Are you sure the guage is functioning properly?

The fuel tank takes 52 liters. With an approximate average of 15km/L (The picture is taken after a highway run), a full tank can go for approximately 800 Kms. So a half tank of fuel must have been consumed.

Re: Ford EcoSport 1.5L AT: Ownership Review

Till date my eco sport AT never up shifted to 6th at normal highway speeds of 80-90, I could shift to S and take her to 6th using the triptronic button. RPM used to hower around 2500-2800 in 5th at 80-90.
Just completed 5000km yesterday, and realized that if I get my foot off the accelerator at 80 or above, I'm getting a upshift to 6th, and RPM remains 2100 to 2400 at 80-90, but any thing more than feather touch to the throttle leads to a down shift.
What speeds / RPM have you noticed the up-shifts. Full to full basis I'm getting between 9 and 11 km/Lit in city, and 13-15 on highways.

Just pull the stalk towards you.
