power window problem?

did you just say 7 months!!!?? Few weeks ago it was 3-4 months.

question to vdi owners - any problems seen with the power windows? When i took the TD from pratham motors in blr, the FL window did not work and the poor sales guy had to pull it with his hand and struggle to get it working - it worked after 5 minutes.
Btw Vishnu - Excellent report. Thanks for all the info so far! keep it up.

Agreed. It is safer to fill it up when it is 3/4th empty

VDi or LDi do not have the low fuel indicator as for as I know

1750 kms (in 10 days) report

All,

Mileage
In the last 10 days I have completed 1750kms in my VDi. I got 26KMPL in my first refill which is 99% high way/non-city traffic and no A/C. In the subsequent refills I got 25.5 and 25 KMPL with 10-20% A/C. I will update my city driving conditions mileage in the coming weeks as I am just back in Bangalore. (Maintained in the 80-90KMPH range, 1800-2000 RPM, Reliance Diesel)

Handling and Drive
It is a awesome car to drive. I am enjoying it. It simply zooms, I never had so much confidence to over take in my earlier drives with Zen D.

Inside cabin is calm, quite, smooth ride in good roads. You do not feel like you are going at 100KMPH...no engine noise at all. Roads with patches, holes there is a little tyre noise and little bumpy in the rear seat.
Over all the car is great

First Service
I have done the first service few days back - Issues were :
1) Noise in the rear (only occurs when I am on a bad road) - Seat belt assembly noise as per the advisor which can not be fixed.
2) Left side pulling - corrected

Oil change has been done and the cost is 629Rs.

Need info on
Other Swift D owners please comment on the below :
1) My temperature is always in the middle. Even in the early morning with in few kms drive the temp needle goes to half mark. (This is not something I have noticed in my dad's Zen D, the needle takes time to reach half mark in night/early morning driving conditions)
2) Roof noise when it rains - When it rains the noise inside the cabin is very irritating. It is like you are under a aluminium sheet roof. This is also something I never noticed in Zen D or Accent CRDi
3) Seat belt assembly noise in bad roads. Some rattling noise from the reat area. Any one facing. This is not from door for sure.

blorebuddy, I hear the seat belt noise in my swift ldi. It is from the top of the B pillar where seat belt is bolted. My car also pulls towards left. What did they do to solve it?

we got a esteem vx in December of 96 the windows failing after 2 years and we had to push the windows up

whent the car went to the dealer for service he said that its common in maruti and nothing can be done other that to clean it

maruti should build better quality motors for the power widows

power windows in versa

Now i know the power window problem is with many maruti vehicles and not only with my Versa...the other day I went out with my family for shopping and this left power window would not close!!! I obviously could not have left the vehicle in bangalore with its window open and almost decided to go back home...and as unexpectedly it had stopped working, more unexpectedly it worked and so far it is working till one day again it will not work!!!

BTW, others please check if you have not pressed the 'lock' button unknowingly !!!

Few Updates

Couple of updates for your folks
  1. Unber body bumper scratch: I have noticed some underbody scratches in the front bumper while cleaning the vehicle. Realized that it is due to the ride on a mud road (uneven) few days back. My first scractch on the new car
Lesson Learned : Go slow on uneven mud roads.
  2. Scracth and paint touch up job on the front bumper left fender. This was not identified me in the first 1 week. The service advisor who was checking the vehicle while taking it for first service noticed and informed me. (he was not my dealer). He has asked me to check with the dealer. Went to dealer yesterday and asked about the delivery of vehicle with paint touch up job. Sales guy did not gave me convincing answer. Happened to meet the sales manager. He has accepted it could be during the pre delivery and he has asked me to come today to paint that part. Today they have painted it and it is a perfect job. I did not pay anything. Looks like they will cut from Sales guy's pay as he has not noticed it or taken it in writing before delivering the car.
  3. Update on rear rattles: It is fixed in 45 mins. Dealer's service adviser has done a good job. But he told there is some vibration/noise in engine plate (? I do not know what plate it is) (This comes when I accelerate slowly in a slow gear) which will take time and will fix it during the 2nd service.
Happy as the cabin is quite now.

I have noticed the service advisor revvs up so badly, (I never have done so much of revs) for changing gears. Why is this so? I have noticed with couple of mechanics...quite common.
