A certain Grand Vitara owner who was supposed to do TD and submit some kind of a report is missing in action from this thread. Weekend has already elapsed.

I was ready with the camera, but the delivery didn't happen. A certain PS/AC belt didn't survive the long trip from the factory to the dealership, this was due to some alignment problem in the belt seating, detected during the PDI. You'll have to wait a little longer.

Hey Samurai,

Would really appreciate you posting some pics of the Gurkha soon. I am moving back to India from the States and wanted to buy a fairly basic 4x4 for off road use. I emailed a bunch of people with the Mahindra defense Systems to convince them to sell me an MM550 XDP (the army version of the MM540), but they politely pointed me towards the Bolero Invader. I would rather buy back my great grandfather's bullock-card than buy a bolero invader. Hence the Gurkha is the only true 4x4 available in India within a reasonable budget.

Just got off the phone with a Business Manager at Force and he said that they should be taking new orders shortly. If this doesn't work out, I may have to buy a RHD wrangler from UK and bring it down with me. The problem is that only the 2007 model has the diesel engine and it will run upwards of 15000 GBP for a used one. Add on the 110 import duties and I wouldn't be afraid to get it dirty. No point having a jeep that I am afraid to take off-road. But the Gurka, I can see myself beat the hell out of that beast. I may even hunt a few autoriksaws with it.

No Ram, it belongs to my cousin, you have spoken to him many times I believe. He caught the Gurkha bug after seeing yours. After waiting a long time for Gurkha I bought a Grand Vitara instead.

Finished with the photos, working on the report now. Gurkha will be in Bangalore by weekend, hiding in some garage.

President of United States of America ... where else .. that's where election campaign is underway.

I am eagerly awaiting for the report, don't know why but I feel excited about it ... and it's been a long time since I have been excited by any car or truck.

LOL, these Gurkhas are almost like Ferraris. So rare and exclusive that the enthusiasts know who bought what.
