Well, if i am it interpreting correctly the guy is right, although he has conveyed his message in a strange way.
The thing is that fiats have a fairly unique PCD of 98mm, whereas a LOT of other cars have a 100mm PCD. This means that most of the alloys in the market are 100mm and they can fit onto the fiats, but they will NOT be a perfect fit.
See this thread on the same problem.
However, if you did get 98mm pcd wheels there would not be a problem with the "4th nut"

Running in period is mentioned on pg 112 of your service manual under the heading oil consumption. It stretches to about 5000km if you have good roads to occasionally rip your car after 1000km. In my case the running in period was about 9800km after which the car became ultra smooth and fuel efficiency in bumper to bumper traffic with AC on all the time rose to 9.8 to 10.4km/liter.

congrats man. you now own the best hatche in the country. Just take care of the runningin period. I know its quite difficult but its good to take care of her during her initial days. And dont worry about the Fuel indicator. It usually falls real fast for the first half and would then become more slower. You would get a minimum of 10km in city with full AC GUARANTEED.

Yup guys, i test drove the same black one before i bought this - and the test drive car was still in the showroom when i got delivery of mine. It had done about 1200 then...

I did think my car had done a lil too much on the odo when i got it, had done 108 km!!!! But no scratches or anything. So i doubt they'd have given it out for test drives (never underestimate the power of denial).

In other news i got an ICE hooked up yday - a pioneer in dash cd / mp3 head unit with 5 inch 2 way blaupunkts in front and 6 X 9 blaupunkts at the back. Really good quality sound now!!

I have an Adventure and I get invariably between 9-9.5 with 100% a/c on in Mumbai city. So, sensible driving (Actually difficult with the hot hatch), should get you about 10kmpl with 100% a/c on! You shouldn't be sad at all if you get more than 9....Let me give you a comparison, all in Mumbai city with 100% a/c (This is post feedback from the owners). You car has a kerb weight of 1060kgs and a power of 100BHP @ 5500 RPM

1. Hyundai Accent 1.5 gives you around 8.5 - 9.5 ( Kerb Weight 1014kgs, Max power 95BHP @ 5500 RPM)
2. The new Verna gives you around 9 (Kerb Weight 1152kgs, Max power 103BHP @ 5500 RPM)
3. The Baleno 1.5 (93 BHP) power gave 10-11
4. The Ford 1.6 gave 8-9 and the IKON Flair with 778kg of Kerb weight and 70BHP @ 5500 RPM gives between 9-10 kmpl
5. Honda City VTEC gives 10-11 (Kerb Weight 1065kgs, Max Power 100BHP @ 5800 RPM)
6. The Hyundai Getz 1.3 prime gives between 9.5 -11 (Kerb Weight 1033 kgs, Max power 83BHP @ 5500 RPM)
7. The Ford Fiesta 1.6 gives 9 -10 (Kerb Weight 1130kg, Max power 101 BHP @ 6500 RPM)

So, why the comparison??? I don't understand! Hence, don't bother and enjoy the beauty!

Yeah, i did check this again after posting it first - it was 80 at 2000 rpm in 5th gear, i got carried away

Well, im lost with the on road price now - cuz i got financing. So basically, i paid 1.08 lakhs up front and got financing of 4.03 lakhs at 11.25% reducing. The rate of interest was basically where i did most of my negotiation, the down payment was registration, insurance etc. The down payment also included a loan processing fee etc, which is why its slightly over the total price of the car.

They started off with 14.5 % for the loan, and after many quotes from diff companies etc, it came down a relatively large amount.

Accessories thrown in were just mud flaps and "special" rubber matting (i am yet to figure out what's so special about it).

The comparison with WagonR is quite apparent. The first thing you notice is a lot more power and the way this car hugs the road! With a wagonr, as it's a tallboy had a tendency to throw you around while cornering, that is virtually missing in this car. The suspension is a lot stiffer as well (that along with the fact that the car has 14 inch wheels) results in a far smoother drive.

Interiors.... well the car doesn't have that much headroom, but a lot more side space. 3 people would be far comfier in the back here (i haven't tried it as yet - the seats just seem larger). THe boot space is virtually non-existant in this car LOL!

Overall drive quality... well, I drove the car for about 8 hours yesterday (don't ask why) and i wasn't tired one bit... maybe cuz she's still new, maybe cuz its just fantastic over long drives - maybe both... only time till tell.

Finally, i booked the car the previous Monday (27th May) and got it on friday 8th June. So that's about 2 days from giving your first cheque to getting the car. I did notice that Shaman guys behave like idiots n slow down after they get their first cheque, but a little bit of sarcasm and letting them know that you haven't paid them the complete amount seems to get your point across.. and helps speed things up.

The only pain in the A$$ was during delivery - i was there for 3 hours - extremely inefficient and not to mention they went n changed my name on all the paperwork - gave me a middle name that doesn't belong to anyone in my family!!?!?!?!?!

Anyway, they're reworking all the papers n car registration n giving it to me in a couple of days. I suppose this is the downer for fiat, but hey, the car still rocks and i dont have to spend all my life with Shaman (i hope).

If any of you guys want a good deal from Shaman, please don't hesitate to contact me as i've learnt a couple of tricks now.

I also saw an ad for the Palio at 4% interest in todays paper (DNA or Bombaytimes). However i don't think this will be 4% reducing... no harm in checking it out anyway.
