Thanks for the review Busa. One of my relative is planning to purchase a 4*4. Was thinking of the Safari. This review will surely help. By the way, can you tell me how much did the beast cost you ???

The Tata's seem keen on selling the 2.2. There's an ad every 5 minutes on NDTV. And a very good one at that.

LOL Crazy Driver.

No Samurai not yet, waiting for the X1 and then the subsequent R&D by fellow bhpians.

BTW we are waiting for your soon to be the most photographed Safari on the forum

And annhilator - Safari VX 4x4 costs around 12.5L OTR Vashi and 11.5L for the 4x2

Hello ReachMash,
Seems to be the sensible option at the moment

The only thing you may miss is the extra padding and rubbers on the 2.2. You have to live with some small cabin noises in the 3.0. Maybe we can get theser rubbers fixed once 2.2 spares are int stock

Hello aadix,

When I went back to showroom and spoke to the rep with of taking back the deposit made on 2.2l due to reasons which I don't wanted to revel, as they were denying the fact and looks like all the dealers were in sync on that regard.

That is the time, I went and spoke to my contact who was not in a position to push me for 2.2 and at the same time, my bro friend contacted the the birdy who is the top brass of the dealer :-), looking at my confusion, he setup a meeting in couple of hours through my bro's friend (who happens to have a close relations ship at family level).

He said, it would be my choice, however, he did not revel the issues / secrets of 2.2 but said that some tests are still going on but could not revel beyond that and he made a recommendation to go with 3.0.

I think he left us i.e. BHPians to speculate / figure out the issues on 2.2

@ Samurai - What's the update ? Have you booked yours or still undecided as to what to do.

Last I remember you had almost booked the 3.0 but after hearing the 2.2 launch, you postponed it. Now that the Beast is out, you still game ? I know you were awaiting dealer's response, anything from them yet ?

I am also very confused at the moment. I would love to buy one and the finances have also been arranged more or less BUT reading mix reviews is confusing me. I have always owned small petrol cars and Mid sized sedans BUT never a Diesel or SUV. So really double minded. Help me out !!!

How about taking your own test drive, and see if its comfortable for you, how you feel. AFAIK, you do long distances on Delhi-Agra na, i think 2.2 would be just perfect for you (and NH2 )
