congratulations srini, your vehicle looks just wonderful, the body color bumpers are adding to the overall black look, motivating me too to go for the same.

go a little easy on the speed for some time though, till all the nuts and bolts are rechecked at the first service, mine had a loose nut in the fuel line, spotted in time and tightened.

cheers to your new vehicle!

As some have quoted, you have spent quite a sum of money on "beautification". Since, your's is a LX model, did you change the wheels to alloys???

As far as the crash guard goes, see if you can get something fabricated in "all steel". This I have seen in one of the Merc SUVs & they look fabulous.

Enjoy the bull, low speeds to start with please!!
hi,i havnt put alloy wheels yet.if possible can u send me the pic of the merc suv with all steel bullguard

@Ashwin_seattle

SIRs, we are here on an "add on's" project & not trying to compare the performance/ interiors of MERC TO SAFARI.

You will never know, as days pass by, Safari might outbeat Merc. Must have heard that TM is buying off jaguar!!

hey srini....there were days when I used to see that car pass by GPO. Do not have pics :(. But I found one interesting site @ Everything SUV: The Best Sport Utility Vehicle Accessories, SUV Accessories and Truck Accessories from WAAG, Husky Liner, Nerf Bars, PIAA, Surco, Catch-All, WeatherTech, Hella, Lloyds, Rear Gear And Many Others where you could get crazy innovative idea on the retrofits.

Alloys: Quite hard to find a dealer who sells Aura in B'lore. The showroom sells it at 28K - quite unreasonable. Market is flooded by taiwan makes. Incidentally, plati, is the make which atleast has its name embossed on the wheels. The rest of the pack just change their names over the "plastic caps'

Ok... Here is the address of the person who sells Aura alloys only. http://www.auraalloywheels.com

M V Enterprises<Br>34, 1st Main Road,
Kalasipalyam , New extn
Bangalore-560002
Mr. Manoj Agarwal 080-2223090
manoj_magarwal@yahoo.co.in

This person is the distributor for Bangalore. He supplies the wheels to all the dealers. You can go there & buy, this is just parallel road of JC Road.

When you are coming from the Minerva Circle, Reach SKC & take a left near the signal & one more left, now you will reach parallel road of JC Road & you will find this godown on right side on first floor. He is 5k cheaper than the dealers.

Regards
Deepak

Check out Godfather's bull bar here. Looks very similar to yours but the bar doesn't block the grille. However his fog-light placement is suspect.

Yeah..I kind of dont like the position of the fog Lights myself.. I plan to change it once i come back.. but then the question is.. where does the Number plate go??

Would i be allowed to put the number plate on the extreme left or right corner of the bumper and put the fogs on the Silver step of the bull bar??

Goddy

Hey Srini,

Congrats on your new buy,

I feel the word BEAST suits the safari more than a BULL.

Its sure a great SUV man.

I somehow feel that my 3L DICOR behaves like a big daddy compared to the 2.2 VTT Dicor.

Any inputs on this comment from any of the DICOR Heads on this forum.

Sure the Safari is still the best you can get, enjoy your drive man.

Hey bglsrini
Congrats on taking possession of the BEAR.
You will have a great time taming it and enjoy every moment of it.
It is a fantastic vehicle and me after driving a petrol cars for the past 15 years had some apprehensions about going for a diesel. Finally took the plunge in November 07, and frankly speaking never regretted my decision.
Drive safe

In Delhi I do not see any shops carrying these sleek Bull bars. those ugly all around taxi bull bars are more common.
Any tips on where to get these plastic type bull bars in New Delhi.
